Cute Box Alert- plus tutorial!

Posted on February 16, 2008 by Josee

I came across the cutest little box the other day while searching online and I just had to make one.  Since I was making it I thought I’d share my step-by-step tutorial to creating it!
I first saw the box posted on Splitcoaststampers by "flowerbugnd1" and she used the template from Julie Buhler on her blog.

Click HERE for my Step-by-Step Tutorial to create this fun project!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set:  One of a Kind
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Round Tab Punch, 1/4" square punch, 1 3/8" square punch, Pretty in Pink Brad, Pretty in Pink Tafetta Ribbon, 1/4" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1/8" circle punch

Click HERE for Julie Buhler’s Template

This box is such a cute little size! I used it to put goodies in for a teacher Valentine. I hope you all had a great Valentine’s and hugged the ones you loved!!!! We ended up at my daughter’s school for public speaking. She did a speech on "her little sister"…it was so cute to hear her talk about the baby with such love. Children are so precious!!! It’s certainly busy having 3 of them…but, so great to see how much they love each other. I was worried that the age difference would be hard for them (My first two are 7 and 6…and the baby is 10 mos) but, they really do love each other and get along well!

Have a HAPPY STAMPING DAY! Josee

Beate’s Weekend Challenge-She’s all That

Posted on February 16, 2008February 16, 2008 by Josee

For Beate John’s Weekend Challenge, I decided to use "She’s All That" from the upcoming Occassions Mini. I know it’s the same set she used…but, I was working on a sampler for that set anyhow- so, I thought I’d use it too and use the card for the challenge and my sampler!!!

I wasn’t sure if this set was my style…but, guess what?! I LOVE IT!!!!!!! These LADIES are so sweet!!! Such a different style from what Stampin’ Up! usually comes out with. This card took me a bit of time to complete, but, I love how it turned out. I hope you do too!

Supplies used:
Stamps: She’s all That,
Floral Background stamp
Cardstock: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Rose Red
Ink: Rose Red, Regal Rose
Accessories: Markers, Ribbon Slide, Punches: Slit, 1 1/4 circle, 1 3/8 circle, Scallop Circle, Pretties Kit Rhinestone Brads, Whisper White Tafetta Ribbon

Card Details: To ink up the lady, I first inked the stamp on the Regal Rose Ink pad, then used the Rose Red marker to highlight her purse, hair ribbon and beads. I actually mounted the greeting on the side of the wood block so that I can use it on its on. I stamped the Floral Background stamp in Rose Red on the Regal Rose Cardstock layer.  I used dimensionals to mount the Regal Rose layer onto it’s card backing so that it’s popped off the card. (I found the brads too thick to mount the layer flate.) I used a scrap piece of Regal Rose (3 7/8 long) to create the scalloped edging using the slit punch. I then adhered it to the back of the layer. I used my Rose Red marker to add dots to the middle of my scalloped edge and my Scallop Circle. CS sizes: Rose Red card 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, Regal Rose layer 4 1/2 x 4 1/4, White Layer 3 3/4 x 1 3/4, Rose Red Layer 3 7/8 x 2.

This is the sketch that I followed:

I hope you like it! Thanks so much for coming by to visit!!! Josee

Fun stamping with demonstrators-part 1

Posted on February 13, 2008February 14, 2008 by Josee

Last night, I hosted a stamp night with demonstrators in my group. Each demonstrator got to make 10 different cards and brought enough supplies for 10 people to make her card. It’s always so much fun to see what people come up with and it’s definetely a fun social night too. It’s called a shoebox swap, and it’s kind of like a free class for demonstrators!  What could be better than getting together to stamp?!

Today I’ll share part 1 of the cards we made and I’ll show you the second set tomorrow:

Aren’t they lovely??? Come back tomorrow to see the remainder of them!

Have a HAPPY STAMPING DAY! Josee

Sweet Stuff

Posted on February 12, 2008 by Josee

Today’s share is YUMMY!!!! OK…so I might have sampled some of these before completing these projects..but, can you blame me??? Who can make Valentine’s treats without some taste testing. I mean…we wouldn’t want to give the kids something that doesn’t taste good. hee, hee. I haven’t decided which to make for my kids classes.

Any opinions?

Project 1:
I found the lollipop sticks at Bulk Barn and punched a 1/4" circle through the white cardstock, stuck the stick right through the Hershey Kiss. Be careful not to push too hard into the kiss as it will break it apart. Or press REALLY hard and then you have to eat those…right?! 🙂

Project 2: I used a peppermint patty to create and sandwiched it between the 2 punched out scallop circles. (Thanks Marlayne for the idea! So cute!)

Here’s a Side View:

Project 3: This last project, I  used a 3/16 circle punch. The stick of the lollipop fit perfectly.

Each project used the So Many Scallops stamp set, Regal Rose Ink and the Scallop Circle Punch!

So, which one do you like better??? Feel free to leave me a comment to help me decide!

Josee
