Stamped Thank You Card

Posted on May 17, 2017May 15, 2017 by Josee

Today's card is a stamped thank you card using the Eastern Palace Suite bundle that is now available! As you showed you with yesterday's card the Eastern Medallions Thinlits can really be experimented with, and as you can see with today's card, the Eastern Beauty stamp set lends itself to lots of experimentation and play too. There are so many fun shapes to make designs with, whether you are creating a background as I did, or a focal point.

Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin Up

How To Make This Hand Stamped Thank You Card:

This card starts with a base of new Tranquil Tide cardstock. Then on a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock I started to stamp the background. With Fresh Fig, Tanquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist ink I started stamping the various designs from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.

The 'a note for you' stamp from the Eastern Beauty stamp set was curved before putting it on the acrylic block and stamping with the Lemon Lime Twist ink. This layer was then adhered to the cardbase.

Before adding the strip of Fresh Fig cardstock to the cardfront, a piece of Eastern Vinyl Sticker border was cut to size and added.

On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, the greeting, frame and design was stamped with Fresh Fig, Tanquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist ink and then cut with the matching die from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits dies. A mat piece was cut from Tranquil Tide cardstock using the same die and both were adhered together as shown using SNAIL adhesive and then added to the cardfront using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thinking of You Card

Posted on May 16, 2017May 15, 2017 by Josee

I am back today with another Eastern Palace Suite card. The Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies are so much fun to experiment with as they really can give you a different look each time, especially when used to create a gorgeous cut out background like on this card!

Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin Up

How To Make This Hand Stamped Thank You Card:

Start this card with a cardbase of Fresh Fig cardstock. Then cut out the Very Vanilla layer and set it on your Big Shot cutting pads. Lay each of the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies on the Very Vanilla cardstock to create your background. You can die cut all the dies all at once, repeat for any dies that you wanted to use again in other areas. You will notice that the dies don't cut the shapes out completely, which makes them perfect for creating backgrounds!

On the areas not cut by the dies, stamp the flower stamp from the Eastern Beauty stamp set with Lemon Lime Twist ink. Then adhere it to the cardfront.

On a strip of Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper tie some Gold Metallic Thread and tie the Mini Tassel onto it, then add that to the card front with your favorite adhesive.

On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, stamp the circle stamp from the Eastern Beauty stamp set in Fresh Fig ink. Take the dotted stamp from the same stamp set and stamp that along the circle with Lemon Lime Twist ink. Then, stamp the greeting in Fresh Fig ink. Die cut the circle using the matching size from the Layering Circles Framelits and cut a larger mat circle from Fresh Fig cardstock.

Add the die cut circles to the cardfront with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Beautiful You stamp set- Coloring With Bleach

Posted on May 12, 2017May 9, 2017 by Josee

We made this card for one of my stamp classes a while back and I just realized I never shared it here! This card uses a fun technique of coloring with bleach! We used the Beautiful You stamp set from Stampin' Up's 2017 Occasions Catalogue (& yay! this stamp set will still be available come June 1st!!).

Beautiful You stamp set, Stampin Up, bleach stamping

How To Make This Hand Stamped Card:

Start with some Very Vanilla cardstock for the base, then add a layer of Basic Black cardstock.

Then cut both the Designer Series Paper and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock (or whatever cardstock best matches the paper you have chosen).

Coloring With Bleach

On the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, stamp the woman from the Beautiful You stamp set in Basic Black ink. Clean off the stamp and stamp over the exact same spot with Versamark ink.

Note: Since the Beautiful You stamp set is only available in wood mount or clear mount rubber, and not photopolymer, the best way to stamp perfectly over top the already stamped image is with the Stamp-a-ma-jig! If you are new to the Stamp-a-ma-jig, check out this oldie but goodie video 🙂

Immediately sprinkle with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. Melt the powder with the Heat Tool until shiny. The heat embossing will keep the coloring inside the stamped lines.

Fill an Aqua Painter with bleach, or just dip the Aqua Painter into a jar or dish full of bleach and start coloring in the image. The bleach will start taking the color away from the cardstock where you add it. Carefully splatter more bleach around the stamped image. Allow this to dry if needed, then adhere to the card front.

Stamp the greeting onto the Designer Series Paper from the Beautiful You stamp set with Basic Black ink.

Add some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon to the front of the Designer Series Paper strip, adhering it to the back of the paper. Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the card front and then tie another piece of ribbon to complete the look of the ribbon being tied.

Add some Rhinestones Jewels to the card front to add some bling!

Stampin' Up Stamps:

Beautiful You stamp set

Stampin' Up Paper:

Very Vanilla cardstock, Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, Basic Black cardstock, I also used the now retired and out of stock Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, but you can use any patterned paper you like!

Stampin' Up Ink:

Basic Black ink, Versamark ink

Other Stamp Supplies and Tools:

Stamp-a-ma-jig, Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Aqua Painter (carefully filled with bleach), Rhinestones Basics Jewels (out of stock, but they will be back June 1st!)

I hope you get a chance to get some stamping done this weekend! Have a great weekend! If you are celebrating this weekend, Happy Mother's Day!

Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers

Posted on May 11, 2017May 9, 2017 by Josee

I am back today with a super easy note card using the Eastern Palace Suite from Stampin' Up's 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue. The focal point of this card uses the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers to create a pretty medallion and border.

Eastern Palace Suite, Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers, Stampin Up

How To Make This Hand Stamped Note Card:

Start with a card base of Very Vanilla Thick cardstock. Add a layer of Tranquil Tide cardstock about 5"x3.5" to the cardfront leaving space to stamp the sentiment.

Stamp the sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set using Tranquil Tide ink.

Grab your Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers and find the long border sticker you would like to use, measure out 5" and cut the sticker leaving behind the small piece for later use. Take the border sticker and carefully peel it off the sticker backing and lay it on the card front.

Note: The Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers are very sticky! Make sure the sticker is where you want it to be before allowing it to touch your cardstock! You can use a plastic ruler to help you guide the sticker in place before committing it to the card. (Stick the edge of the sticker onto the edge of the plastic ruler, once in place, pull the ruler out carefully, leaving the sticker in place.)

Then, choose the medallion Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers and place them on the cardstock as the focal point.Eastern Palace Suite, Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers, Stampin Up

Stampin' Up Stamps:

Stampin' Up Paper:
