We made this card for one of my stamp classes a while back and I just realized I never shared it here! This card uses a fun technique of coloring with bleach! We used the Beautiful You stamp set from Stampin' Up's 2017 Occasions Catalogue (& yay! this stamp set will still be available come June 1st!!).
How To Make This Hand Stamped Card:
Start with some Very Vanilla cardstock for the base, then add a layer of Basic Black cardstock.
Then cut both the Designer Series Paper and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock (or whatever cardstock best matches the paper you have chosen).
Coloring With Bleach
On the Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, stamp the woman from the Beautiful You stamp set in Basic Black ink. Clean off the stamp and stamp over the exact same spot with Versamark ink.
Note: Since the Beautiful You stamp set is only available in wood mount or clear mount rubber, and not photopolymer, the best way to stamp perfectly over top the already stamped image is with the Stamp-a-ma-jig! If you are new to the Stamp-a-ma-jig, check out this oldie but goodie video 🙂
Immediately sprinkle with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. Melt the powder with the Heat Tool until shiny. The heat embossing will keep the coloring inside the stamped lines.
Fill an Aqua Painter with bleach, or just dip the Aqua Painter into a jar or dish full of bleach and start coloring in the image. The bleach will start taking the color away from the cardstock where you add it. Carefully splatter more bleach around the stamped image. Allow this to dry if needed, then adhere to the card front.
Stamp the greeting onto the Designer Series Paper from the Beautiful You stamp set with Basic Black ink.
Add some Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon to the front of the Designer Series Paper strip, adhering it to the back of the paper. Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the card front and then tie another piece of ribbon to complete the look of the ribbon being tied.
Add some Rhinestones Jewels to the card front to add some bling!
