Watercolor Background: Every Good Wish

Today’s card is a card with a fun watercolor background that we made last month at Card Class. It uses two different techniques…watercoloring with Aquapainters AND the emboss resist technique.

Gold Season Like Christmas Card

I’ve got another lovely Christmas card to show you today. This Christmas card features the Season Like Christmas stamp set and some gold accents including the gold patterned sheet from the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper pack.

How To Make This Hand Stamped Christmas Card:

This card starts with a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock.

On a piece of regular Whisper White the tree is stamped in Wild Wasabi ink and Tranquil Tide ink. The tree trunk is stamped with Soft Suede ink and the ground layer was stamped with Smokey Slate ink.

This stamped layer was cut and layered with a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock matted under it.

A piece of the gold Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper was added to the cardbase, with the stamped layer on top.

The greeting from the Season Like Christmas stamp set was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White with Tranquil Tide ink and then punched out with the Duet Banner Punch. The ends were trimmed off with some Paper Snips to allow the gold layer to show. The Gold Foil sheet was also punched with the Duet Banner Punch and both pieces adhered together with SNAIL Adhesive and added to the card front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.Season Like Christmas stamp set, Stampin Up, handmade Christmas card idea, Designer Series paper

For the final touch, the Gold Foil Sheet was die cut using the snowflake die from the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits and adhered to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot. Year of Cheer Watercolor Emboss Resist

Today’s card is another Christmas card designed using the Year of Cheer stamp set and the emboss resist technique- but this time using a watercolor wash on the background.

How To Make This Emboss Resist Christmas Card:

Start by cutting and scoring the Pacific Point card base.

On the Watercolor paper, stamp the snowflakes from the Cheers to the Year stamp set in Versamark ink, then sprinkle White Stampin’ Emboss powder and melt with the Heat Tool.

Use an Aqua Painter to color the Watercolor paper in Pacific Point ink; adhere the layer to the cardfront with SNAIL Adhesive.emboss resist, watecolor background, stamped Christmas card, Stampin Up

Adhere a silver Foil Snowflake on top of the watercolor background with SNAIL Adhesive.emboss resist, watecolor background, stamped Christmas card, Stampin Up

Stamp the greeting with Pacific Point ink and the circle design with Tranquil Tide ink and die cut with the scallop circle from the Layering Circles Framelits dies; adhere on top of the foil snowflake with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tie the Pacific Point Stitched Edge Ribbon with the Silver Tinsel and adhere to the die cut on the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.
