As promised, I am back today with a simple idea for a gift ensemble!

I put together this set of four 'no layer' cards with matching envelopes. I think this is an easy way to make a gift in a hurry! You know, for when you kinda, sorta forget to get a gift A stack of these cards (perhaps 2 of each) tied with a pretty matching bow or put in an empty stamp case (which you could decorate to match if you have time!) I think anyone could appreciate the gift of cards- we all need them at some point and there is nothing like needing one and having it on hand instead of having to go buy one. GASP! Do people really BUY cards? Why buy when you can make a handmade card!! They don't need to know just how easy and quick it was!!

Vivid Vases

Good Morning!

Back today with another card 🙂 Today's card has Vivid Vases which will continue to be available in the new catalogue, but it also showcases a retiring stamp- Dictionary! If you love background stamps, this is a great one to have!

I really love the muted colors on this card! I don't use gray often enough!

Supplies:

Measurements:

Basic Gray Card Base 4 ¼ x 11
So Saffron Mat 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
White Mat 3 ¾ x 5, white inside mat 4 x 5 ¼
Scraps of white and saffron for saying
4 x 4 white for circle

Instructions:

Stamp Vase Image on 4×4 in Black Memento Ink and color with markers, cut out with Circle Framelit
Ink up the Dictionary Stamp and lay the mat on top of it. Gently tap with fingers to get a uneven impression
Attach the Dictionary mat to the Saffron Mat and attach to card front
Attach Circle to the left Center with Dimensionals.
Stamp the saying on the scrap of white and cut into a thin strip and flag. Attach to a strip of Saffron and cut around leaving a slight edge. Attach to card with a dimensional on the left side and tape on the center so it’s even.
Stamp edge of insert piece with the dictionary Stamp and tape to inside. Add a small strip of Saffron with Adhesive.

Chalkboard Easel Card

Hello!

If you are looking for a perfect 'Teacher' card, I have a great idea for you today! It is getting close to the end of the school year, and for those of us with kids in school, that often means gifts, or at the very least cards for the teachers. It is a nice thank you for all the hard work they do.

With the current sentiment it could be perfect for a teacher leaving or changing positions, but with a Thank You or other sentiment added I think the shape of this card makes a perfect teacher or caregiver card!

Supplies:

Measurement:

Crumb Cake Card Stock – 4 ¼ x 11” scored at 5 ½”
Basic Black Card Stock – 3 ½ x 3 ¾”
Scraps as listed above for Banner Punch (or any coordinating colors of your choice)
6-7” of White Baker’s Twine

Instructions:

Center the 5^th largest Square Framelit on the folded 4 ¼ x 11 piece of card stock about 1 ¼” from the bottom to create “legs” for the card base and run it through the Big Shot.
Ink the Hardwood Stamp with Crumb Cake Ink and stamp both front and back of the card base. Sponge all edges with Early Espresso ink.
Stamp the “do more…” stamp in the piece of Basic Black card stock with Whisper White craft ink. Pierce holes or use the 1/8” hand held punch in the card and add to the front of the card with two silver mini brads.
Punch the scraps of colored card stock with the Banner Punch and use the 1/8” punch to add holes for the banner. String together with White Baker’s Twine (about 6-7”). Wrap around the two mini brads and trim as needed.
Stamp the hearts on one or two of the banners.

Here is the first of the cards I will show you this week. This card uses Guy Greetings. I love the way the tool stamp is used to create a subtle background too.

Here are the supplies that were used on this card:

First, stamp the tools all over the Pacific Point card Base in Pacific Point ink and then run the front of the card base through the Big Shot (or Texture Boutique) with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder. Then, stamp the vintage car onto the Naturals Ivory cardstock in Soft Suede and use the Blender pens to soften the ink and colour in the car. Stamp the Happy Birthday in Pacific Point underneath the car as shown. Adhere the Naturals Ivory layer to the Soft Suede Layer and then onto the card front.
