Let It Snow

Hope you’re having a great weekend! I got some of my Holiday Catalogue goodies this past week and today I got a chance to play with the adorable Snowman Season stamp set! I love the 3 adorable snowmen in this set. I played with the builder snowman and I love how it turned out. The fact that there is a matching punch, makes this set super fun to create with!

Measurements:  

  • Real Red: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4 ¼” and 1” x 4-1/4” for banner
  • Balmy Blue: 3 ¼” x 5 ¼” 
  • Whisper White:  3” x 4”
  • Ribbon: approx. 15”

Instructions:

  1. Fold the Real Red cardstock in half.  
  2. Use the corner of the Classic Label Punch to punch out a small hole in the fold of the card. 
  3. Put ribbon through the hole and make a bow in the front left hand side of card.

  4. Stamp the snowflakes on the Whisper White cardstock randomly by inking once and then stamping two different times to create 2 different shades of the colour.
  5. Use a paintbrush to add Shimmery Crystal Effects to the entire front of the snowflake layer. Paint the Crystal Effects vertically and horizontally to create a more textured look making sure you let it dry in between applications. Once dry, adhere it to the Balmy Blue cardstock.
  6. Stamp the snowman, 2 arms and hat with Memento Black ink on scrap cardstock.
    Tip: You can punch a scrap template using the Snowman Builder punch and carefully add stamps in the template. Once they are placed in your template, you can lay down your Acrylic block to attach stamps so that your stamps are placed correctly for stamping and punching out.
  7. Colour snowman and hat with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Adhere snowman to card using glue dots. Place hat to the card using a dimensional. Add mittens from the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit using Glue Dots.
  8. Add Real Red Enamel Dots on top of buttons.
  9. Stamp “Merry Christmas” on bottom of card with Memento Black ink pad.
  10. Stamp “Let It Snow” on scrap Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the 1 ½” circle punch. Attach circle to the card using dimensionals.

3 colour Foil Sheets!

Don’t you just LOVE how beautiful the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets and the Beads & Baubles embossing folder look together?! The Foil Sheet packet includes 2 sheets each of Blueberry Bushel, Old Olive and Pretty Peacock in a 12″ x 12″ size.

Measurements:

  • Old Olive: 4-1/4″ x 11″ score at 5-1/2″
  • Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ and 3-1/2” x 2-1/4”
  • Basic Black: 3-1/2” x 2-1/8”
  • Noble Peacock Foil Sheets: 5” x 1-1/8” one each of Night of Navy, Pretty Peacock and Old Olive

 Instructions:

  1. Attach large Whisper White piece to card front.
  2. Run all three pieces of Noble Peacock Foil Sheets through Beads & Baubles Embossing Folder and attach to card front with Snail Adhesive.
  3. Stamp bird image in Memento ink on smaller Whisper White and cut out with Stitched Rectangle Die
  4. Colour in the stamped image with Stampin’ Blends: Bird Body-Night of Navy Combo, Leaves & Bird Heads-Old Olive, Flowers-Pretty Peacock, Branch-Crumb Cake, Beaks-Mango Melody. Be sure to blend the Night of Navy and Old Olive on the birds.
  5. Attach the stamped image to Basic Black with Snail Adhesive.
  6. Place Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the Basic Black piece and attach to the card front.

Christmas Birdie!

Chirp! Chirp! Isn’t this adorable bird the perfect touch for a Christmas card?!

Measurements:  

  • Real Red: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4 ¼” and 1” x 4-1/4” for banner
  • Whisper White:  4” x 5-1/4” and 2” x 5-1/4” and scrap for Circle

Instructions:

  1. Fold the Real Red cardstock in half.  Layer the 4” x 5-1/4” mat onto the front of the card. 
  2. Ink the Buffalo Check background stamp using Balmy Blue ink; tap off lightly once and stamp onto the 2” strip of Whisper White cardstock.
  3. Stamp sentiment at bottom of checkered strip using Real Red ink.  Layer strip onto base card.
  4. Stamp the chick using Black Memento ink.  Colour in using the Blends. Punch out using the 2” Circle Punch.
  5. Shake the Puff Paint well and *lightly* apply onto the Hat fur trim – a little goes a long way!
    Heat set immediately using your Heat Tool.

  6. Use scissors to “flag notch” the 1” strip of Real Red cardstock to create a banner. Adhere the circle to the banner and then adhere to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. If desired, brush a bit of Wink of Stella onto the Puff Paint and the star to add a bit of sparkle!

Blessed Friend

Watercolouring is fun to do on Shimmery White cardstock! For this card, I used black embossing powder and then watercoloured with 3 different ink colours and an Aquapainter. I heat embossed on Vellum cardstock with Black Embossing powder and I love how you can still see the pattern through after your add the greeting and add the layer to the card!

Measurements:  

  • Terracotta Tile:  5 ½” x 8 ½“, scored at 4 ¼” 
  • Basic Black: 4” x 5 ¼”
  • Shimmery White: 3 ¾” x 5”
  • Vellum Cardstock: 1 ½” x 4 ½”  

Instructions:

  1. Wipe Embossing Buddy all over the Shimmery White cardstock before stamping. (This will eliminate the static of the paper and help to not have embossing powder all over. 
  2. Stamp the flower randomly on the Shimmery White cardstock using Versamark.  
  3. Sprinkle Black Embossing Powder, tap off excess and heat set with Heat Tool. 
  4. Use an Aquapainter to watercolour some flowers with Rococo Rose ink and some with Terracotta Tile ink. 
  5. Watercolour the background around flowers with Seaside Spray ink. 
  6. Stamp an extra flower on scrap Shimmery White cardstock, watercolour with Terracotta Tile ink. Let dry then add some Wink of Stella to add shimmer. Cut out with Paper Snips.
  7. Wipe Embossing Buddy all over the Vellum cardstock, then stamp greetings with Versamark ink. Sprinkle Black Embossing Powder, tap off excess and heat set with Heat Tool. 
  8. Adhere all layers to the card base. With the Vellum, you can use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen and add some glue behind the lettering and behind where the flower will cover. 
  9. Add dimensionals to the back of the cut-out flower and add to the card.
