May Your Season Sparkle – Emboss Resist Technique

I love making cards with snowflakes…but to me, they are even better when made with unconventional colours! My favourite colour is PINK so I love how this card turned out.

Dimensions

  • Blushing Bride: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Whisper White: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Shimmery White: approx. 4″ x 5″

Directions

  1. Adhere Whisper White to the card base.
  2. Stamp the snowflakes on the Shimmery White cardstock using Versamark ink. (As it is hard to see the stamped images, you can choose to do half the cardstock first).
  3. Sprinkle with White Embossing powder, then heat emboss using a heat tool.
  4. Use a sponge to pick up colour from the Blushing Bride ink pad, then rub in a circular motion around the embossed snowflakes. The images will resist the ink. Use a tissue to take the ink off of the snowflakes.
  5. Cut out the Shimmery White cardstock using the 3 3/8″  x 4 3/4″ Stitched Rectangle Die.
  6. Cut out smaller snowflakes with the smaller die using Vellum cardstock. Use a glue dot to glue on top of the larger snowflakes.
  7. Stamp the greeting on a scrap of Whisper White and cut out using the 1 7/16″ x 2 3/4″ Stitched Rectangle Die.
  8. Fold the ribbon in half and adhere to the back of the greeting layer. Add the layer to the card using dimensionals.
  9. Add Rhinestone gems.

Life is Beautiful in Fall

This is the 3rd card I made with the Life is Beautiful stamp set. I used the same design for all of them and just switched the colours. This one I created with the Fall Season in mind.

Dimensions

  • Merry Merlot: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″  AND  1″ x 1 5/8″
  • Very Vanilla: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Directions

  1. Stamp the tree offset a little on the Very Vanilla layer using Crumb Cake ink.
  2. Stamp the birdhouse using Early Espresso ink.
  3. Stamp the leaves using Merry Merlot ink on the top of the tree.
  4. Add ribbon on top of the vanilla layer and adhere ends to the back of the layer. Use another piece of ribbon, tie in a bow, then add to the card using a glue dot.
  5. Stamp greeting on the Crumb Cake cardstock using Merry Merlot ink. Add to the card using dimensionals.

Kick Up Your Heels with Zebras!

Happy September! This summer went by super quick, didn’t it?! Today’s card makes me super HAPPY, it’s just so cute and uses one of Stampin’ Up!’s most popular stamp sets! These adorable little Zebras are so versatile and can be used for all kinds of cards!

Measurements

  • Calypso Coral: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Whisper White: 3 3/4″ x 5″  AND  3″ x 4″
  • Coastal Cabana: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″

Directions

  1. Add 3 3/4″ x 5″ Whisper White cardstock to the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder and put through a die-cut machine to add texture to the cardstock. Adhere to the card.
  2. Use a dauber to pick up Coastal Cabana ink from the ink pad. Press and turn on to the 3″ x 4″ Whisper White cardstock. Adhere to the Coastal Cabana layer, then to card.
  3. Stamp greetings with Granny Apple Green ink to its matching cardstock then punch out using the Classic Label Punch. Adhere to the card.
  4. Use a piece of Watercolor Paper to randomly add the ink colours with a Water Painter. Let dry.
  5. Stamp the 3 Zebras on to the Watercolour Paper using Stazon ink. If you’d like a darker colour of black, you can use the Stamparatus.
  6. Cut out Zebras using Paper Snips. Add to the card using dimensionals.
  7. Make a bow for each Zebra using the Whisper White Crinkled ribbon and add to the zebras using a glue dot.

Whimsical Tree

I duplicated the card that I made HERE in more fun, summery colours to create a more whimsical look.

Dimensions

  • Gorgeous Grape: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″  AND  1″ x 1 5/8″
  • Whisper White: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Directions

  1. Stamp the tree offset a little on the Whisper White layer using Gorgeous Grape ink.
  2. Stamp the birdhouse using Highland Heather ink.
  3. Stamp the circles using Magenta Madness ink on the top of the tree.
  4. Add ribbon on top of the white layer and adhere ends to the back of the layer. Use another piece of ribbon, tie in a knot around the first ribbon.
  5. Stamp greeting on the Magenta Madness cardstock using Gorgeous Grape ink. Add to the card using dimensionals.

Snowflake Tree

The tree in the “Life is Beautiful” stamp set is very versatile and I love that it can be used for different seasons! I made 3 different cards using this stamp set. You’ll see the other 2 featured here within the next few days.

Dimensions

  • Real Red: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″  AND  1″ x 1 5/8″
  • Crumb Cake: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Directions

  1. Stamp the tree offset a little on the Crumb Cake layer using Cinnamon Cider ink.
  2. Stamp the birdhouse using Real Red ink.
  3. TIP: Make sure that the ink is completely dry before the heat embossed step or the powder will stick on the tree. I used my heat tool to heat set the ink.
  4. Stamp the snowflakes using Versamark on the top of the tree and the ground part at the bottom of the tree.
  5. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder on, tap off excess then heat with the heat tool.
  6. Add ribbon on top of layer and adhere ends to the back of the Crumb Cake layer. Use another piece of ribbon, tie in a bow and add to card using Glue Dots.
  7. Stamp greeting on the Real Red cardstock using Versamark. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder on, tap off excess then heat with the heat tool. Add to the card using dimensionals.
