This card features a fun embossing technique that you may not have tried before – faux embossing.  You can get an embossed look without needing anything besides stamps and ink.  Here's how you can do it – let's get started!

  • Accessories: Pumpkin Pie ¼ Grosgrain Ribbon (109030), Stampin' Dimensionals (104330)
  • Tools: Big Shot (113439), Lattice Embossing Folder (119976), Stampin-Ma-Jig (101049), Large Oval Punch(107035) , Ticket Corner Punch (107214)

    • Card Base: 8.5 x 5.5
    • Mat for Stamped Image: 3.25 x 4.25
  • Whisper White
    • Card Mat for Embossing: 4 x 5.25

Use a single solid image stamp for this technique, like Upsy Daisy.

  1. Take a solid image stamp and stamp image in color that is the same as the paper you wish to use.
  2. Clean the image, and then using a Stampin-Ma-Jig, stamp overtop, slightly offset in Whisper White Craft ink.

Note: If you aren't sure how to use the Stampin-Ma-Jig – check out this video from Angie Juda on YouTube

Finishing Touches

  1. Fold card base in half and make crease with bone folder.
  2. Run Whisper White 4 x 5.25 piece through Big Shot with the Lattice Embossing Folder.
  3. Take Pumpkin Pie ribbon and attach to embossed piece with SNAIL on back, wrapping ribbon around the sides. Attach to card base with SNAIL.
  4. Take More Mustard 3.25 x 4.25 piece and Tempting Turquoise 3 x 4 piece and use Ticket Corner punch on all four corners. SNAIL the Tempting Turquoise to the More Mustard piece and attach to card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Get all your Retiring Sets before they are gone!

It's an exciting week this week – only two more sleeps until we can all order from the 2010/2011 Idea Book!  The new catalogue is always a bit bittersweet, especially as we'll be saying goodbye to lots of stamp set on June 30th including the two used on this card, Very Thankful (115338) and Sprinkles (115076).

Sprinkles is a great little set for doing backgrounds, and Very Thankful includes four thank you stamp sets in varying styles, and best of all, $2 from the sale of this set goes to Ronald McDonald House!

This card features Sprinkles stamped in the background for a tone on tone effect with Rose Red Classic Ink on Rose Red cardstock. The image was stamped in Basic Grey and colored in with classic ink in blender pens.  Easy peasy!

To order these sets, along with any of the others that are gone as of tomorrow, click on my signature below and have your order shipped to your door anywhere in Canada.

Simply Adorned – Jewelery Perfect for Every Occasion

Posted on June 25, 2010June 25, 2010 by Josee

Ch1
Don't you hate it when you are getting ready and you are rooting through your jewelery looking for just the right piece to go with your outfit? I have a solution!  Stampin' Up's Simply Adorned Jewelery line offers the perfect solution. Create one of a kind jewelery that's a perfect match for your outfit, and showcase your stamping!

Best of all, the Simply Adorned jewelery line comes in a variety of shapes and sizes – with five different charms to pick from, and three different types of chains.

Charms

Stampin' Up!'s nickel-plated charms feature tempered, bevelled glass on front, flat glass on back, and a lobster clasp. The locket-style charm with hinge allows you to easily insert custom artwork. Charms are available in five sizes – 5/8 circle, 5/8 square, 1×1, 1 x 1.25 and 1.5 x 2

Chains

The Simply Adorned stainless-steel chain–available in three lengths (34 inches, 24 inches) and a bracelet) –features a toggle clasp and exclusive Stampin' Up! charm identifier. The finish coordinates perfectly with the Simply Adorned charms. A little tip for you – the 34 inch chain is versatile as you can wear it either long or doubled up.

You can check out the entire line of charms and chains in my online store here.

Stampin' Up has also created a stamp set for creating your art for your charms called Charming (116519). The charm above uses this set, which I just love.
