Very Vintage with Stencils!

Posted on July 5, 2010July 5, 2010 by Josee

I've been playing around for a while with the Decor Elements product line, including the stencils, which I love as they provide so many possibilities.  There's a new Decor Elements catalogue now available which includes a bunch of new pieces.

Check out the new catalogue:

  • as a PDF
  • through my store

The last stencil I added to my collection was from the Summer Mini (page 13) – Mostly Vintage (118877).  What really appeals to me about stencils is that you can change them up so easily!  This card uses a lot of products from the Summer Mini including the Chocolate Chip 5/8 Satin Ribbon (117287) , Textured Impressions Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976),  and the greeting comes from Watercolor Trio (W117050/C120084).  Three techniques were used to create this card!  Here's a rundown on the simple techniques used:

  • Stenciling – The stencil was added to the card using Soft Suede and Bashful Blue Classic Ink, which was sponged. Soft Suded was applied first and then a layer of Bashful Blue on top.
  • Shimmer Paint – With the stencil still in place, the image was sprayed with a mixture of Champagne Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol.
  • Color Spritzer – The entire card and envelope were "spritzed" with the Color Spritzer and Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue Stampin' Write Markers.

To check out the entire line of Decor Elements click on shop now below and select "home decor" from the menu along the left hand side.

Have you seen the new Idea Book and Catalog?  I LOVE IT!!!   It is jam packed with new colours, stamps and accessories that you are going to absolutely love!!!

This card uses a whole lot of new product which is from one of the new "suites" of products. These items come from the Graphical Botanical Suite which includes Floral Art, designs with a pop of color, basic coordinating accents and vivid and earthy colors. Love, love, love it!!!

The stamp comes from Friends Never Fade (W118750/C120618) and is inked up in Baja Breeze Classic Ink which is an old coloUr which has come back, and the card base is also Baja Breeze as well. The green  you see is the lovely Pear Pizzazz which is one of this year's new In Colors.  The Designer Series Paper is called Greenhouse Gala (117167) and includes both bold and subtle patterns which are great for cards or scrapbooking.  As if that wasn't enough, the ribbon is new too – it's a new line of 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon which comes in 13 colors.  The ribbon used on this card is Early Expresso (119959) which is topped off with a ribbon slide from the Styled Silver HodgePodge Hardware Kit (111325).

Check out all the new goodies in my online store, and you can have your order shipped right to your door anywhere in Canada!

Artistic Etchings-stamp set with a vintage flair!

Posted on July 2, 2010July 2, 2010 by Josee

Photobucket

If you've seen the New Idea Book and Catalogue, then you've probably spotted the set used on this card called Artistic Etchings (W118517/C120573).  It includes a series of images which have a vintage flair, but are very versatile for lots of different projects.  This is a quick and easy card which features this set, along with the fabulous new Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink (119669) and Cardstock (119685), which is a great addition to the Regals Collection.  I can't wait to make holiday cards with it!

Step by Step Directions:

  1. Cut Cherry Cobbler Cardstock to 5.5 x 8.5 and fold in half
  2. Stamp medallion image in Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink on card base
  3. Cut out Top Note out of Crumb Cake Cardstock, and stamp Eiffel Tower image in Early Expresso Classic ink and "postcard" greeting (from Winter Post) in Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink.
  4. Set brads (from Neutrals package) with paper piercer as shown
  5. Adhere Top Note to card base with Stampin' Dimensionals

Artistic Etchings is part of the "Vintage" Suite in the new catalog, which has a ton of products you are going to fall in love with.  I can't wait to get my hands on the accessories from this line including Antique Brads (117273), Vintage Trinkets (118764), and Victoria 5/8 Crochet Trim (118481). Another item in this line that I am really excited about for you scrapbookers out there is the new 12 x12 Designer Printed Albums – including the sweet Real Red Polkadot Album (119809).  There really is something for everyone!

Happy Canada Day & Happy Stampin Up! New Year

Posted on July 1, 2010July 1, 2010 by Josee

Happy Canada Day!  July 1st is an exciting day for Canadian stampers – the Canada Day holiday & the first day of the new Idea Book & Catalogue which means a brand NEW YEAR in Stampin' Up! world!  Of course, this is a holiday just to read your catalogue, lol!

If you're looking to receive a new catalogue and don't have a demonstrator yet, email me and I'd be happy to hook you up!

The catalogue will go live online TODAY around 2pm, so check out my store this afternoon: www.stampingjo.com/store for all the wonderful NEW products!

You can also view the PDF version here

I was SO happy to see the Canada Day stamp set (W119889/C120042) in the Summer Mini when it came out. It's a great set for cards or invitations and scrapbooking like the page above.  The fireworks are super versatile, and the single firecracker can quickly become a candle. I really like when you can look at a stamp set and see multiple ways to make it work for you.

To honour the new catalogue and our great nation, I paired up some new colours – Cherry Cobbler with Crumb Cake and a splash of Marina Mist!  I am loving these new colours, they are so fresh and fun and really are helping to keep me inspired.  Two other new products are featured here – the new 2 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch (118874) and Marina Mist 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon (119527).   So many new goodies, and these are just the ones I could pre-order as a Stampin' Up demonstrator – just wait until I get my first shipment.

Speaking of being a demonstrator, there's a brand new starter kit in the catalogue – only $215 and lots of stamps, ink, paper and more!  I'd love to have you join my team of INKredible Canadian Divas – which are hobby and business demonstrators – who all love to stamp.

The kit is a great deal regardless if you want to save or make money! AND best of all….with the new HST means that there is NO TAX OR SHIPPING ON THE KIT!!! At least there's one benefit to the new HST.

Click here for more info on the super starter kits!!
