Technique Time: Fall Punch Art

Posted on October 4, 2010October 4, 2010 by Josee

Thanksgiving is nearly here and so is the colder weather. I can't say that I don't like fall, I actually really do…but, it brings me thoughts of winter which I really don't like! Now that we've moved to Winnipeg, I keep chatting with people here who say: "just you wait till winter"…they really are scaring me…lol. I may just have to hibernate for the winter…thank goodness for the internet. Seriously, it can't be that bad?!

Last week we bought my husband a vehicle and my van should be here this week. I can't wait till we have this whole car thing figured out, seems like forever since we've had to borrow and rent cars. I signed up all my kids for activities…sewing, basketball and kindermusik and all the kids seem to have made some friends. I have grass and today I'm getting my fence posts. Things are starting to settle down a bit.

I'm starting to get a bit more organized with Stampin' Up! I'm still a bit behind with emails, etc. (please be patient-I get alot of emails) but I'm pumped to have a productive week this week!

In preparation for Thanksgiving, here's a cute and easy card for you!

  SP2

This week's technique features two fall-themed pieces of punch art, perfect for cards, scrapbook pages and more.

This week's project is a quick fall favor box perfect for a gift at a place setting for your fall gatherings, or to hold a small gift. This favour uses the Autumn Spice Designer Series (120808) paper from the Holiday Mini which is absolutely perfect for boxes as it has a heavier weight than normal Designer Series Paper.

Step by Step Directions

  3. Assemble die cut box by adding sticky strip to the flap and folding the bottom together.
  4. Punch Early Espresso Scallop Circle, then crumble and flatten back out to create texture
  5. Stamp leaf from Day of Gratitude Set in Cajun Craze Classic Ink on Very Vanilla. Cut out using paper snips. Attach to scallop circle using Stampin' Dimensionals. Attach this entire piece to box using SNAIL. Add pearl to leaf as shown.
  6. Stamp "just for you" from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Pear Pizzazz. Cut out with Oval Punch, add to box with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. Tie Pear Pizzazz ribbon around the box end to end and tie in a bow.
