I joined South Hill Designs on Oct. 30th, 2013 and am thrilled to be a part of a ground floor opportunity where I've already been able to have a nice profitable income and have a team of 91 amazing ladies across Canada, US and UK!!! I have loved to see the success happen so quickly with many of my team members! AND I love helping my customers pick charms for their lockets that truly tell THEIR stories!
YES, I can support team members in Canada, US, Puerto Rico, UK and starting August 1st we are opening in Quebec, Mexico and Dominican Republic.

3) I have an AMAZING support group of helpers who help me run my 2 businesses. Without all of you, I could not stay sane running 2 businesses. You are all incredible at keeping me organized and I could not do it without you.

4) I have a GREAT family who I love to spend time with. My husband and 3 kids are the BEST and also help me with "our family businesses". It has been amazing to see my kids grow into incredible business people who can do almost everything I can do. 🙂

Pink Flamingo Fun!

Posted on July 18, 2014July 11, 2014 by Josee

Good Morning!

Today I have an awesome card that just screams SUMMER! I just love the colour combination and of course the Pink Flamingo!

10155873_10152559257221614_6405228337432213867_n

Supplies:

  • Stamp Sets –    Flamingo Lingo (W-134303, $21.95, C-134306, $16.95) & Gorgeous Grunge (W-130514, $24.95, C-130517, $17.95)
  • Card Stock –     Strawberry Slush (131295, $6.95), Basic Black (121045, 6.95), Whisper White (100730, $8.50)
  • Other Papers – Back to Black DSP (133700, $10.95), Silver Glimmer Paper (135314, $4.95)
  • Stamp Pads — Strawberry Slush (131178, $5.95), Basic Black (126980, $5.95)
  • Misc. – Basic Black Marker (100082, $3.50), Owl Builder Punch (118074, $16.95), Petite Petals Punch (133322, $12.95), ¼” Circle Punch (134364, $8.95), Framelits
  • Ovals Collection (129381, $26.95), (counting from the smallest to largest, numbers 3 & 4),
  • Paper Piercing Tool, Mini Brads,
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Measurements:

  • Strawberry Slush 8 ½ x 5 ½; 5 ¼ x 1 ¾
  • Basic Black 4? x 5?; 3¾ x 2¾ (for oval); small scraps to punch hearts from the Owl Punch & flower centers
  • Whisper White 5 ¼ x 4; 2 ½ x 3 ½ (for oval); 3 ¾ x 1 ¼ for stamping and punching flowers
  • Silver Glimmer Paper 5 ¼ x 2
  • Back to Black DSP 5 ¼ x 1 ½

Instructions:

  1. Ink Flamingo stamp with Strawberry Slush, with the black marker, color the legs and beak.  You can wipe the Strawberry Slush off first if you want to, but I find that color over the pink doesn’t affect my marker.  Stamp on Whisper white and cut with the 3rd smallest oval framelit.
  2. Cut Basic Black Oval and mount the stamped flamingo to that.
  3. Stamp 3 flowers with Strawberry Slush ink onto Whisper White Cardstock and punch using the Petite Petals Punch.  Punch Basic Black circles for the centers and tape them on.  Using the Paper Piercing Tool, pierce holes and place the brads in the center of the flowers.
  4. Stamp the Whisper White layer using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set with Strawberry Slush and Basic Black inks.
  5. Adhere layers together.  I put a dimensional at the top and bottom of the black oval to make up for the thickness of the center layers.  I adhered the flowers with glue dots.
  6. To make the butterflies, punch 4 hearts with the owl punch.  Adhere them with glue dots with the points barely overlapping.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! Happy Stamping!

More boredom busters!

Posted on July 17, 2014July 15, 2014 by Josee

Good Morning!

This week's Tuesday post about rainy day boredom got me thinking…Stampin' Up really has so many options to keep the kids busy (and moms too) on a rainy day, or even for just a little afternoon quiet time! 🙂

So today, I've put together a list of the TOP TWELVE Stampin' Up kits that would make the task of boredom busting so much easier! So here they are, in no particular order!

1) Paper Pumpkin

Demo_Header_pp_promo_0714

If you have not tried these kits yet, you are in for a surprise! Literally! Each month you receive a box of stampy goodness, and you never know what you will get! Check out this video of June's kit:

Right now Stampin' Up has a great promotion too!

Check out the Paper Pumpkin Pinterest Board to see past kits and what's been included in them! You can join the club and see the offer details here!

2) Simply Created Card Kits

Don't want the kids cutting up all your sheets of paper? (They don't always use the paper to it's max do they?) These kits are wonderful! Already coordinated and cut for you! Check out this video for the Greeting You kit:

They would be a great way to bring some stamping with you on your summer travels too! Check out the other Kits available in my store!

3) Dude, You're Welcome Kit

Got some boys to keep busy? It can be hard to find stamps that meet the approval of the men in our lives 🙂 Let's face it, we love the girly stuff, they don't. Stampin' Up has a kit just for those guys!

And, based on this Pinterest find, we can always find a way to girly it up so they share!

4) Stamp Carving Kit

Have some older kids to keep busy? How about letting them design & create their own stamps? This Stamp Carving Kit allows them to do just that! They can draw their own, print out a design from the web or they can just use the supplied designs and carve away! How's that for giving them creative licence? 😉 Check out this sample I found on Pinterest:

5) Simply Created Build A Banner

Who says you have to make cards? Let them create decor for their bedrooms or an upcoming party with the Build A Banner Kits!

There are even a few kits left in the Clearance Rack if you want Halloween or Christmas themes.

6) Journal Kits

Have them create their own custom journals! They can work on their creative writing in style! They could add drawings, postcards, magazine cut outs or photos too!  And of course, they can create cards with any of the leftovers!

7) Take an online class!

Ok, this isn't really a kit, but just because school's done, doesn't mean we stop learning! Learn something fun, check out the online options here. Of course you can also check out StampingJo TV for lots of how-to videos! Kids would love this punch art card:

8) Give Digital A Try!

Let's face it, kids today love electronics! Sometimes we just can't fight it! Let them learn to scrapbook digitally! Download the MDS software here. You can even give the Trial Version a go! Right now, getting prints through MyDigitalStudio is 20% off!

9) Play with Clay!

Kids love to mold and smush clay in their hands! Stampin' Up offers Clay Molds and White Clay that can be coloured to match our papers! What else can the kids find to use as molds? You might be surprised at what they come up with and how proud they'll be when they see their creation on a card!

10) Tag A Bag!

Got a party or gift giving occasion coming up? Let the kids get creative with the packaging! Stampin' Up offers many packaging options, and the Tag a Bag kits are a super cute option! They would make great loot bags or party favor bags too!

11) Make Cookies!

Did you know Stampin' Up sells cookie stamps?!  How cute would these be all packed up as a gift, or eaten right out of the oven! All you need is the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamp handle, and then choose which set of stamps you would like: Happenings Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps or Seasons Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps.

12) Project Life which I talked about in this post.  You can find all the Project Life products here.

Phew! How was that for a list?! 😉 I hope this helps you come up with some ideas to keep those creative juices flowing over the summer and keep the kids from the old "I'm bored" syndrome! 🙂

Rainy day boredom? Get started on Project Life!

Posted on July 15, 2014July 15, 2014 by Josee

Hello!

We have ourselves a rainy summer day today. 🙁 Definitely an indoor activity kind of day, especially with the kids!  You could go to a museum, go shopping or hit one of your local indoor play places, but if you are looking for an inexpensive, stay-at-home idea, how about Project Life?

Even if you are not a 'scrapbooker', Project Life is an easy way to record some memories! Even better, it's something the kids can do themselves or you can do it with them! I love to look back at a page of my kids' handwriting and drawings, and I think they will love to look back at that when they are older too.

CM1893B

If you have a box full of photo prints, or lots of photos in digital format never getting printed Project Life is a great way to do something about that!! The best part is, Project Life is available in digital format too! So if you find yourself thinking about how you wish you had thought of this idea at the beginning of the summer before the "I'm bored" started, you CAN get started today!

138040G  138041G

Check out my store to see more of what is available!

One of the advantages to Project Life in digital format is that you can choose how you want to create. You can print out the cards and elements and put them together as a traditional page, or create the entire page digitally! Stampin' Up's MDS Software is easy to use! Give it a try!

Of course, Project Life isn't only for memory pages! Get creative with the elements and make some greeting cards! Just sit back and watch how creative and imaginative your kids can be!

Enjoy!
