In case you missed my previous post introducing the NEW 2016-18 In Colors…here they are!

new SU In Colors 2016-2018

Loving these new colors!

Now, today's card uses one of the first stamp sets I got to play with 🙂 It's called Swirly Bird Stamp Set and it coordinates with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits that I also used here. Also NEW on this card is the Thoughtful Banners Stamp set and coordinating NEW Duet Banner Punch!

Swirly Birdy, Stampin Up by StampingJo

How To Make It:

First, I used the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing folder to emboss the Whisper White Thick card base.

Then, on a layer of Whisper White I stamped the Swirly Bird 'swirl flower' in Sweet Sugarplum ink and the leaves in Emerald Envy ink. That was layered onto a mat of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and then adhered to the card base. Swirly Bird, Stampin Up, flower card by StampingJo

Then, I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to cut out two 'swirly flowers', one in Emerald Envy cardstock and the NEW Playful Palette Designer Series Paper. They were then glued on with the Fine Tip Glue Pen over the stamped flower.  A Metal Rimmed Pearl was added to the center of the flower.

Then, the sentiment from Thoughtful Banners was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Sweet Sugarplum ink and then punched out using the Duet Banner Punch. That punch out was layered with a banner punched from Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.  Adhere that to the card front

Apple of My Eye, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up, punched card fun

Apple of My Eye Thank You card

Posted on May 26, 2016May 24, 2016 by Josee

Good Morning!!

The card I have to show you today might just make you hungry 🙂 It features the retiring stamp set- Apple of My Eye from the 2016 Occasions catalogue!

Apple of My Eye, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up, punched card fun

How To Make It:

Let’s start by making our fruit. Stamp your lemon using Daffodil Delight then punch out with 1 ¾” circle punch. Stamp thank you inside the lemon using Crumb Cake ink.

Next, using the peach, stamp into Calypso Coral and stamp off on scrap paper then rock the stamp in the ink again just inking the outer edges and stamp off again on scrap paper then onto your white cardstock. You want a light blotchy and peachy feel. Peaches aren’t perfect and you are stamping a sentiment on top so you don’t want it too dark! Then fussy cut it out.

Ink up the sentiment in Crumb Cake and stamp it on top of your peach. You’re going to do the same “rock and roll technique” with the pear but with two colors. Stamp the pear in Pear Pizzazz ink first and stamp off on scrap paper, then rock the stamp in Wild Wasabi ink just inking the edges and stamp off on scrap paper and then stamp onto Whisper White cardstock. Fussy cut the pear.

Use Cherry Cobbler for the cherries but stamp off once one scrap paper first. Punch out with ½” circle punch. Stamp cherry, peach and pear stems using Soft Suede ink and fussy cut. Stamp all leaves using Pear Pizzazz ink and fussy cut.

Adhere all stems and leaves as shown using your favorite adhesive. I used the 2 Way Glue Pen (also retiring!!)

To make the background put the Stripes Decorative Mask on the white cardstock at an angle and use the Sponge Dauber and Calypso Coral ink pad. Dab the dauber in the ink and dab off on scrap paper first before putting it to the white cardstock for a softer look. Don’t fully cover the white cardstock with sponging.

Next, take that piece and attach it to the front of your card base with SNAIL Adhesive.

Then you want to add your fruit to the front of your card. The pear and pear are attached with snail and the cherries and lemon are attached with dimensionals.

Lastly, add a few Rhinestones for the finishing touch!

Stamps:

Apple of My Eye (#140736)

Paper:

Whisper White (#100730), Crumb Cake (#120953)

Ink:

Daffodil Delight (#126944), Crumb Cake (#126975), Cherry Cobbler (# 126966), Calypso Coral (# 126983), Pear Pizzazz (# 131180), Wild Wasabi (# 126959), Soft Suede (# 126978)

Other:

1-3/4” Circle Punch (#119850) , ½ ” Circle Punch (#119869), Stripes Decorative Mask (# 133775), Sponge Daubers (# 133773), Rhinestones (# 119246), Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430), SNAIL Adhesive (#104332), 2-way glue (#100425)

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!!
