Shaker Card Tutorial

Posted on October 22, 2017September 8, 2020 by Josee

Happy Sunday! I am super excited for today’s project!

Now that I have my new & improved upstairs stamp room…I feel a renewed energy to get stamping and start doing VIDEOS again! I hope you’ll enjoy them! xoxo
(I’ll do a room tour soon, my room stills needs a bit of work.)
I’m excited that this is the first video in a loooooong time and I am really glad that I got to do it with my 10yr old daughter, Hailey.

I really pushed her to pick out the supplies and work on a design herself. Of course, she did use the web a bit for inspiration, but, I think she did a great job, don’t you???

Using the CONFETTI CELEBRATION stamp set, we created a true celebration card…you could use it for a retirement card, a graduation card, a special achievement or anything really!

Want to see how we made it? Check out the video below!

Posted on October 21, 2017October 21, 2017 by Josee

This weekend, my 10yr old daughter Hailey and I had some fun creating a couple of shaker cards using Stampin’ Up! products.

Today, we are going to show you the first one we made with this cute fox punch out. And tomorrow, we are going to share another idea using different colours and stamp set including a step-by-step video on how to make a shaker!

On the fox card, we used the Foxy Friends Stamp Set with the Fox Builder Punch. For the background, we used the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. These sheets come in 6×6 and are double-sided.

This whole card was started using the Metallics Sequins as an inspiration!

Every Good Wish-Double Emboss Resist

Posted on October 17, 2017October 13, 2017 by Josee

I’ve got another great card to show you today- another emboss resist card, but this time it was double embossed! This is a fun way to bring some extra colors in to your design.

How To Make This Double Emboss Resist Card:

Start with your card base and a mat layer on top. On a piece of Glossy Cardstock, stamp the greeting from the Every Good Wish stamp set with Versamark ink and sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder on top. Melt with the Heat Tool.

Use a Sponge Brayer to add Bermuda Bay ink all over the Glossy Cardstock and allow to dry. (Yes, I know the Bermuda Bay isn’t the matching color for the card base, but once you roll it on the glossy cardstock it’s very light in color, so it works!)

Then, use the splatter stamp from the Every Good Wish stamp set and stamp that all over the card front using Versamark and again sprinkle with Clear Embossing Powder. Melt with the Heat Tool.

Then, use another Sponge Brayer to add Berry Burst ink all over the Glossy Cardstock using a tissue to clean any ink off the embossed areas.

Finish off your card with Rhinestones and silver Mini Tinsel Trim and enjoy the fact that you have another Christmas card done!! 🙂

Stampin’ Up Stamps:

Every Good Wish stamp set

Stampin’ Up Paper:

Pool Party, Whisper White, Glossy Cardstock

Stampin’ Up Ink:

Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Versamark

Other Stampin’ Up Supplies and Tools:

Sponge Brayers, Clear Embossing Powder, Rhinestones Jewels, Mini Tinsel Trim Combo, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Emboss Resist Christmas Card

Posted on October 13, 2017October 16, 2017 by Josee

I had so much fun creating today’s card and I love the way it turned out! The background on this card was created with the snowflake stamp from the Colorful Seasons stamp set (2017-2018 Annual Catalogue) and an emboss resist technique on Glossy Cardstock that gives a gorgeous backdrop on any card.

How To Make This Christmas Card:

Start with a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock and a piece of Glossy Cardstock to fit on top.

To create the emboss resist background:

Stamp the snowflakes from the Colorful Seasons stamp set in Versamark ink all over the glossy cardstock- it’s a little hard to see where you’ve stamped, just just be careful not to overlap the stamped images.  Then sprink White Stampin’ Emboss Powder all over the stamped images and melt the powder with the Heat Tool.

Roll the Sponge Brayers over the ink pads you are using for the background colors- I used Bermuda Bay ink and Lemon Lime Twist. Run the brayers over the embossed images to cover the area with ink and ensure there are smooth transitions between the colors. Then take a tissue and rub the stamped areas to remove any ink sitting on the embossed areas.

Finish off your card with a Christmas greeting- I used the greeting from the Tags & Trimmings stamp set that I die cut with the Stitched Shape Framelits dies. I matted the greeting over a scallop die cut I made with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and some Bermuda Bay Mini Chevron Ribbon that was attached with the Tear & Tape adhesive.

Stampin’ Up Stamps:

Tags & Trimmings stamp set, Colorful Seasons stamp set

Stampin’ Up Paper:

Whisper White Thick, Whisper White, Glossy Cardstock, Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock

Stampin’ Up Ink:

Basic Black, Lemon Lime Twist ink pad, Bermuda Bay ink pad, Versamark

Other Stampin’ Up Supplies and Tools:

White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Sponge Brayers, Stitched Shape Framelits, Bermuda Bay Chevron Ribbon, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Heat Tool, Big Shot
