Peaceful Poppies Series (1)- Moments of Joy

Hi stamping friends! I challenged myself last week to use up every pattern of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper with the Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle and the Painted Poppies Bundle.  The papers are so beautiful and I love how the cards turned out. You’ll see that most of the cards are pretty simple since I really let the paper be the focus.


The colours found in the designer paper are:
Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White

   

I used the Whisper White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon on many of the cards I made in this set, but, for this one…I coloured it using our Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. The great thing about the blends is that since it is alcohol-based, the can be used to colour ribbon and the colour will dry very quickly.

Measurements:

• Thick Whisper White: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”
• Blackberry Bliss: approx. 2” x 2”
• Grapefruit Grove: approx. 2½“ x 2 ½”
• Coastal Cabana: ¼” x 5 ½”
• Whisper White: ½” x 3 ½” strip for the sentiment
• Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper: 5 ½” x 2 ¼”

Instructions:

1. Fold card base in half and add the Designer Paper to the left front side using Snail adhesive.
2. Run a line of liquid glue on the right side of the designer paper and add the strip of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.
3. Punch a 2” circle using Grapefruit Grove Cardstock and add to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
4. Die-cut the flower using the Lily Pad Dies and Blackberry Bliss Cardstock. Add it to the Grapefruit Grove circle with a glue dot at the base of the flower.
5. Stamp your sentiment in Grapefruit Grove ink on the strip of Whisper White Cardstock. Then, cut the sentiment after the word “better”. Attach the first part of the sentiment using glue dots. Attach the second half with a Stampin’ Dimensional at the end on the right and a glue dot on the left because it’s on the popped-up circle.
6. Tie a double bow with the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon. I used 2 pieces of approx. 9 ½” and tied them together. Just fluff the loops after you tie it. Attach to the card front with a mini glue dot.

Honey Bee Sunshine

Measurement:

  • Daffodil Delight: 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼” – this will be your card base
  • Basic Black: 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”
  • Whisper White: 3 ¾” x 5” and scrap for the beehive and small bee

 Instructions:

  1. Stamp the beehive onto the whisper white scrap using daffodil ink.
  2. Die-cut it using the coordinating die.
  3. Stamp the greeting using Memento ink onto the white layer.
  4. Add the beehive below the greeting using dimensionals.
  5. Stamp one of the small bees onto the white layer and another onto a scrap of white.
  6. Colour them in using the daffodil delight stampin’ blends marker.
  7. Add a bit of Wink of Stella to the wings for some shimmer.
  8. Die-cut the one bee using the coordinating die.
  9. Add it to the card front using dimensionals.
  10. Draw the flight path using the fine tip of the stampin’ write marker.
  11. Add the white layer to the center of the black cardstock and that to the center of the card front.

Sweet Birthday with Painted Poppies

Measurements:

• Old Olive Cardstock: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”
• Whisper White cardstock: 5 1/4”x 4”
• Designer Series Paper: 5 1/4”x 1”
• Ribbon: 14”

Instructions:

1. Colour your ribbon with the Dark Poppy Parade Blends marker. Put it aside to dry.
2. Fold the Old Olive card base in half.
3. Stamp the Poppy image with Memento Black ink, on the white piece of cardstock.
4. Stamp the saying with Memento Black ink on the white piece of cardstock.
5. Colour the Poppy image with the Poppy Parade and Old Olive Blends markers.
6. Stamp the dot images with Poppy Parade several times (but first stamp it on your scrap paper).
7. Attach the Designer Series Paper to the white cardstock.
8. Attach about 6-7 inches or the ribbon around the white cardstock and then attach the white cardstock to the front of the card.
9. Tie a bow with the remaining ribbon and attach it to your card front with a glue dot.
10. Add Wink of Stella to the flower image.

Momma Panda

A little sponging goes along way! 🙂

Measurements:

  • Thick Whisper White 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score at 4 ¼”
  • Whisper White –4” x 5 ¼”, scrap

Instructions:

  1. Cut out the largest stitched square from Whisper White cardstock using a die-cut machine.
  2. Use Sponge Daubers to add Pool Party to the top of the cut out square and Pear Pizzazz to the bottom, blending to the center.
  3. Stamp panda image in Memento ink and colour with Basic Black Blends.
  4. Cut out panda with Paper Snips and add it to the sponged layer using dimensionals.
  5. Add stitched square to the white layer with dimensionals and then to the card base.
  6. Stamp sentiment in Memento in the bottom right corner.
