Birthday with a Cherry On Top

Hello!

Today I've got another fun way to use the Designer Series Paper! I just love this Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper and thought this was a great way to show many of the fun designs included in the paper stack. Don't those little donuts make you hungry?

Cherry on Top, Sprinkles of Life, Square punch by StampingJo

I started with the card base in Crushed Curry and then cut a layer of Whisper White. Then I used the 1" Square punch to punch out a few of the patterns from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered them to the Whisper White trying to lay them out evenly before I started gluing them down 🙂

Then I tied some Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim around the Whisper White layer and adhered it to the card base. I stamped the sentiment from Sprinkles of Life in Cucumber Crush on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. I then used the same punch to punch some Crushed Curry- I cut the punch out in half and adhered it to the back of the stamped sentiment to create a mat layer and added it to the top of the card with some Stampin' Dimensionals.

Build A Birthday Wishes

Hello!

Today I want to show you this fun NEW stamp set: Build A Birthday! In case you haven't noticed this one in the NEW 2015-2016 catalogue on page 11, at first glance it looks to be a set of stamps designed to make birthday cakes, which it does…but the stamps can also make candles! Check it out!

Build-A-Birthday

This card starts with a base of Cucumber Crush and then a layer of Crushed Curry and Whisper White. Then the 'candles' were stamped with Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush and the candle flame was stamped in Crushed Curry.

Then I added the Cherry on Top Designer Washi tape diagonally along the bottom and added the sentiment, stamped on Whisper White and punched with the Triple Banner Punch and to finish it off added a bit of Linen Thread, stapled on with the Handheld Stapler.

A Whole Lot of Lovely

Good Morning!

Welcome back to the blog! I've got a pretty & simple card to show you today- a fun way to play with some Designer Series Papers. This card uses A Whole Lot of Lovely is a Hostess Only stamp set that you can get by hosting a workshop or with any order over $200!

A Whole Lot of Lovely by StampingJo

First, I cut and folded the Melon Mambo card base and set it aside for now. Then, I cut the Whisper White layer and inked up the little flower stamp from A Whole Lot of Lovely by colouring it with the Stampin’ Write markers, then stamped it onto the corner of the Whisper White layer. I then adhered the Whisper White layer to the Melon Mambo base.

Then, I cut 1” strips from the Neutrals Colour Collection DSP, cutting each strip slightly shorter than the next strip in order to stagger them (about 2" to 4" long)- punch one end of each with the Banner Triple Punch- then adhered them to the Whisper White layer alternating patterns.

Then I inked up the stamp from A Whole Lot of Lovely with Melon Mambo ink and stamped it onto Whisper White- then punched it with the 2” Circle Punch. I then punched a 2 3/8” scallop from Basic Black cardstock and layered it under the stamped & punched image.

Lastly, I cut a Tea Lace Paper Doilie in half, and gathered it into folds as shown adhering it to the Basic Black scallop circle, then adhered it on top of the DSP strips.

My Crafty Friends Monday- 118

Watermelon Cutie Pie

Now, onto the project… What I love about this one is how it's so 'outside the box' or the 'die' in this case- the Cutie Pie Thinlit die! And… a really creative use of the Itty Bitty Accents punch set.

Here are the supplies used on this card:

Measurements:

Watermelon Wonder: 8.5” x 5.5”, Cucumber Crush: 2~2.75” x 5.5”, Black, White and Cucumber scraps for tag and seeds, Baker’s Twine: 24”

Instructions:

Cut two cutie pie frames from Watermelon Wonder (cut off a little of the back enclosure piece, if necessary to make it fit on the card stock) using the Big Shot.
Cut two of the cutie pie frames on the ENCLOSURE END from the Cucumber Crush at the same time.
Use scallop border to cut off pie-side ends parallel to the fold, about 1” away. Line up end of border with scored fold. You will run the scallop through twice as both sides are not in line.
Die cut a cucumber and white flag tag from the Cutie Pie Thinlits, then run cucumber tag through again (twice) to cut out “EAT” and “ME”. It may help to hold word die in place with a post-it note. Adhere cucumber tag to top of white tag.
Adhere cucumber scalloped ends over the matching watermelon shaped end using Liquid Glue.
Apply Tear & Tape adhesive to all the scored “flaps” and assemble box. You will need to cut off one of the watermelon flaps at the point so it doesn’t overlap on the top of box.
Punch 4 hearts from Basic Black cardstock using heart punch from Itty Bitty Shapes Pack. Cut each in half for 16 “seeds”. Adhere to top and sides of box with multipurpose glue. (You can punch more if you want to cover all four sides with seeds).
Wrap baker’s twine around watermelon and add tag.
