Now, onto today's card which features the Jar of Cheer stamp set to make this pretty watercolored Christmas card.

Jar of Cheer Christmas Card, Stampin Up

How To Make It:

This card starts with a card base of Real Red cardstock.

Then on the Shimmery White cardstock, the foliage and ornaments from the Jar of Cheer stamp set were stamped in Archival Black ink and dried with the Heat Tool. Once dry, the stamped image was watercolored with Aqua Painters and Crushed Curry, Real Red and Cucumber Crush ink pads, coloring in the background as well.

The background was dried with the Heat Tool and then the sentiment from Jar of Cheer was stamped with Cucumber Crush ink and the splatter from Jar of Cheer was stamped with Crushed Curry ink.  Then the Shimmery White piece was adhered to the cardbase.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, the jar from Jar of Cheer was stamped and then die cut using the Everyday Jar Framelits.

Then the candle from the same stamp set was also stamped with Archival Black ink and then colored with the Aqua Painters and the same color inks as the background.

yearendcloseout_stampingjo

I've got a fun project to share with you today! I think this would be a great teacher or hostess gift idea you can make- you could even have the kids help you decorate! This note pad holder/cover uses the Cookie Cutter Christmas gingerbread people and the sentiment from the Jar of Cheer stamp set.

How To Make It:

Cut a sheet of Real Red Cardstock 10” x 8 1/8”, score at 4 1/8”, 4 1/2”, 8 1/2”, 8 7/8”. Round all corners using the Project Life Corner Punch. (You may need to change the dimensions depending on the note pad you are using)

Randomly stamp on the Real Red sheet with the candy, candy cane and star stamps from the Candy Cane Christmas stamp set using Real Red ink.

Cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock to 10” x 1 3/4” and score at 4 1/8”, 4 1/2”, 8 1/2”, 8 7/8”.

Adhere three rows of Candy Cane Lane Designer Washi Tape on the Whisper White strip. Adhere to the Real Red sheet, matching up the score lines, using Snail Adhesive.

Stamp the Gingerbread boy and girl- using the same gingerbread stamp from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set on Whisper White cardstock, using Crumb Cake ink. Punch them both out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

Stamp two bows with the bow from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set in Real Red ink on Whisper White cardstock and punch out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

Stamp the greeting in Real Red ink on Whisper White cardstock. Punch it out using the Decorative Label punch.

Punch out a Real Red cardstock circle with the 1 3/4” circle punch, and adhere it to the front of the holder, over the washi tape, with two Stampin' Dimensionals.

Using a partial Stampin' Dimensional, attach the bows on the gingerbread boy and girl. Adhere the gingerbread boy and girl, and the sentiment to the notepad cover with Stampin' Dimensionals. The gingerbread boy goes over the Real Red cardstock circle.

Attach the notepad to the inside with Mini Glue Dots.

Close the cover with a velcro dot adhered under the Real Red cardstock circle.

Christmas Gift Packaging Ideas

Posted on December 1, 2016November 29, 2016 by Josee

Christmas gift packaging ideas using Stampin Up cardmaking supplies

Good Morning!

Today is the first of December. It's really so hard to believe November is over already! I honestly feel like the days just go by so fast sometimes. Do you ever feel like that? This time of year seems to go especially fast with everyone being busy with their daily activities on top of all the plans for the Christmas season! I will admit, as much as I try to think ahead for my Christmas gift giving though, I often realize I forgot someone or feel like I didn't get them enough. So, I thought I would share with you some great Christmas gift packaging ideas you can use to dress up any simple gift to make it look like you spent a lot of time on the gift!

Sometimes you just want to give someone a little something. I think these packaging ideas are perfect for those teacher gifts, hostess gifts, the babysitter, your boss, coworkers, a little something special for that person who deserves it! Use your scrap papers, stamps and ribbons to dress up the outside of the packaging for an extra special gift!

Plus, I've added some ideas for the gifts themselves! (In case you are stuck!)

So, let's get started….

It's in the bag: Christmas Gift Bags

Dress up a plain white or kraft paper bag with your stamp and scrapbook supplies.  Use the Petite Cafe Gift Bags or Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue to package up treats, jewelry or bottles of soap or lotion. Use the Gold Binder Clips to keep a bag closed or the tags clipped on.

The Gift Bag Punch Board is perfect for taller items, like a bottle of soap, lotion or perfume, or even chocolate covered pretzel rods or something similar. Use your favorite Designer Series Paper or Vellum Cardstock to create your own bag and then use paper scraps or vellum tape to decorate and add your own handmade tags too.

Learn how to use the Gift Bag Punch Board here.

Box it up: Gift Boxes

Use the Gift Box Punch Board to create your own boxes out of cardstock and decorate with Baker's Twine or Kraft Rope Trim from the 2016 Holiday catalogue. Add Designer Series Paper scraps and strips to decorate and make homemade tags using your favorite holiday stamps and ribbon.

Learn how to use the Gift Box Punch Board here.

Use the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes to gift some treats, jewelry or other small item; or use a Glassine Gift Bag for treats, jewelry or even gift cards.

The White Gift Boxes from the 2016 Holiday Catalogue are perfect for small items and the Cutie Pie Thinlit Die makes a super creative packaging idea.

Wrap it up: Cellophane Bags

The Cellophane Bags, from the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue, with three different sizes available can hold any larger gift item. Available sizes are 2"x8", 6"x8" and the Gusseted Cellophane Bags are 3"x6". Wrap them up using ribbon, and Designer Series Papers and make your own tags too. Add baked goods or treats, or add bottles of wine or champagne with your own custom bottle wrap- you could even do this to a special bottle of olive oil or flavored oils or vinegars or hot sauce for the cook on your list.

Use what you have: Mason Jars and recycled containers

Mason Jar gift

Dress up a simple Mason Jar filled with treats or mini sized beauty products. Create tags easily with the Merriest Wishes stamp set and Merry Tags Framelits Dies. Another jar idea is to add the dry ingredients for your favorite cookie recipe and include the list of wet ingredients to add and instructions on a tag for the gift receiver to complete the recipe at home. You could even include their favorite hot chocolate with mini marshmallows in a second jar to match. Instead of Mason Jars, you could also use recycled jars cleaned out well. If you can't get all the adhesive off the jar, wrap it up like this one.

Custom Made Packaging: Treat Holders, Custom Gift Boxes and Gift Card Holders

cookie-cutter-treat-holder Custom Gift Box

Use your favorite coloured cardstock and the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create your own gift packaging for whatever you need, from a simple treat wrap to a custom size gift box.  Check out the video below for a great way to make your own boxes at home.

Or use the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits dies to create a box, check out the video here. Or make a Christmas Cracker like this one here.

Have a bigger gift to wrap? Use a roll of plain packing paper or newsprint and stamp the outside with your Christmas stamps!

And, if you can't think of what to get those on your gift list, how about a gift card to their favorite store or coffee shop?

Christmas Pines Wreath card

Christmas Pines Wreath Card

Posted on November 30, 2016November 28, 2016 by Josee

Hello!

Today's card features the Christmas Pines bundle- the Christmas Pines stamp set and Pretty Pines Thinlits-to create this fun Christmas wreath card.

Christmas Pines Wreath card

How To Make It:

This card starts with a base of Mint Macaron cardstock. Then a layer of Watermelon Wonder cardstock and Whisper White on top.

Then the Pretty Pines Thinlits were used to die cut several pieces of Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush cardstock. The die cuts were layed out on the Whisper White layer to create the wreath. Once I was happy with the wreath layout I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to add a dot of glue to each die cut glueing each one under the previous one.

Once the wreath was completed, the sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set was stamped with Watermelon Wonder ink on the bottom of the Whisper White cardstock.

I pieced together a bow out of Watermelon Wonder Striped Ribbon and added it to the card front with Mini Glue Dots.

As a final touch, some Pearls Basics Jewels were added to the wreath.
