Pretty Pines Hostess or Teacher Gift

Posted on November 24, 2016November 23, 2016 by Josee

Happy Thanksgiving to my U.S friends! Enjoy your day!

I think today's project would be the perfect hostess gift or even a teacher gift for Christmas giving. It uses the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies as the focal point of the project and a candle of your choice. I had this one lying around, and the wax color determined the color scheme for this project.

How To Make It:

The first thing I did was to measure the candle jar's height and circumference around the jar. Then I cut the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper to fit. The glimmer paper is a 12"x12" sheet so in this case, it was a tad short to cover the whole width around so I left the space there and covered it with the rest of the design. Sometimes you just have to work with what you have. wink The Glimmer Paper was adhered to the jar using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

Then I cut the Watermelon Wonder cardstock using the largest Lots of Labels Framelits dies and then ran it through the Big Shot again in the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I used a few pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to add the label to the glimmer paper.

Then I wrapped the Watermelon Wonder Striped Ribbon around the jar and the die cut label and tied it with an extra strand of ribbon in the knot.

Then, the pine boughs from the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies were die cut from Always Artichoke cardstock and the pine cones were die cut from a Gold Foil Sheet and Soft Suede cardstock for the solid pieces.

The pine boughs were adhered to the label using Mini Glue Dots and then the pine cones were assembled with Mini Glue Dots then added to the pine boughs using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I left it for now, but you could add a stamped sentiment on a tag hanging from the ribbon or hanging from the top of the jar.
