Good morning! Happy Good Friday!

Before I head off to enjoy a long Easter weekend with my family, I thought I would share this Easter inspired card.

Indescribable Gift

I love this card, so simple yet so pretty! Made so easy with the Indescribable Gifts stamp set! You can download the Project Sheet for this card here: Indescribable Gift

Supplies:

Measurements:

Watercolor Paper: original size (9” x 6”)
Pink Pirouette cardstock: 8-1/2” x 8-1/2”

Instructions:

Fold Watercolor Paper in half for a 4-1/2” x 6” card. Stamp with dogwood stamp and sentiment with Black StazOn ink.
Make a paint palette with a shallow dish or use the inside lids of the matching ink pads if you have them. Put about 2 drops of each color in palette or ink pad lids.
Squeeze the Aqua Painter gently to release clear water. Working with one flower at a time, “paint” the flower with clear water, then dip Aqua Painter in Pink Pirouette ink and drop into areas that you want to be darker (i.e., the center of the flower). The color will spread in the water, creating shading. Start light; you can always add more color if you need it. Repeat for each flower. Clean Aqua Painter by squeezing until clear. Repeat coloring for leaves with Pear Pizzazz and stems with Soft Suede. Let dry.
Dilute Smoky Slate drops with an equal amount of water. “Paint” around the outer edges of branch with clear water and then add the diluted Smoky Slate, allowing the edges to bleed. Let dry.
To make envelope, cut Pink Pirouette cardstock 8-1/2” square and follow instructions on Envelope Punch Board to make an envelope for a 4-1/2” x 6” card. Stamp dogwood image off edge with Smoky Slate ink.

Sheltering Tree

Hello!

Thanks for stopping by today! I've got a pretty card to share today.

StampingJo Sheltering Tree

One thing I love about the Sheltering Tree stamp set is that it is not hard to make it look so pretty! This card was created mostly using the Stampin' Write markers! That is how I got all the different colours on this card and I think it makes it look like I spent alot of time colouring! All I did was take each colour of marker and I coloured the stamp itself before stamping the image on Whisper White. The 'grass' stamp was stamped with a different colour of green with each stamp and sometimes mixed right on the stamp to create some depth.

In fact the only real colouring I did on this card, was to colour the sky with Aqua Painters, by rubbing the marker on an acrylic block and then picking up the ink with an Aqua Painter dipped in alcohol.

I finished off the card with the sentiment stamped on Whisper White. Then for the tag layer I cut a one inch width strip of Old Olive and punched the edge with the Tag Topper Scalloped Punch– by centering the smaller tag piece in the punch I was able to create a scalloped tag edge without having to make it the full tag size.

Hello Spring!

Good Morning!

I am happy to say this morning, that it is finally starting to look alot more like Spring around here! It was snowing a bit yesterday, but it didn't stay because it's warming up! We finally have some temperatures above zero! 🙂 So I have to say, Hello Spring!!

StampingJo Wonderful Wreath framelits

Sale-A-Bration may be over, but the 2015 Occasions catalogue is still available to order from until June 2nd! For this card, I used the Wonderful Wreath Framelits-still available in the Occasions catalogue- and die cut the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper to make a fun Spring wreath! The card base is Blackberry Bliss, with Perfect Plum on top of that and then a layer of Vellum cardstock-embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on top.

Then I used the Little Letters Thinlits to cut out the word 'Spring' from the Vellum and the Hello You Thinlits to cut out the word 'Hello' from Crushed Curry cardstock. I made the bow with Crushed Curry cardstock and the Bow Builder Punch. The whole card is finished off with some Pearls!

Here is a great way to use the Designer Series Paper and Best Day Ever stamp set that you can get for FREE today only! You can download the Project Sheet here: Best Day Ever Bag

Supplies:

Stamp Sets: Best Day Ever Sale-A-Bration set (w-139091, c-139094, poly-139149)

Inks: Coastal Cabana ink pad (131175)

Paper: Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Sale-a-Bration (138633), Whisper White (100730) and Crushed Curry (131199) card stock

Other: Big Shot (113439), Mini Treat Bag Thinlits (137547), Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim (137910), Calypso Coral Pompom Trim (137898), Clothespins (113764), Fast Fuse (129026), stapler

Measurements:

DSP: Cut 2 of the largest bag pieces from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits using the Designer Series Paper and Big Shot. Cut them both from the SAME side of the DSP. Save a small piece of DSP and glue to front of the clothespin.

White card stock: 1 piece of 1-5/8” x 4-3/4”, scored on each end 1/2” and 1 scrap to stamp and cut banner from

Crushed Curry: 1-5/8” x 3-1/2” for banner layer

Pompom trim and Sequin trim: 7” each

Instructions:

Cut off the top of pinked edge on both pieces of the bag —> and score the short section 1/2’ from the edge. These will be your new tabs to assemble bag.
Apply Fast Fuse to the 1/2” tabs on both sides and bottom on the RIGHT side of the DSP (the side you want to see). Adhere sides to create bag.
Apply Fast Fuse to tabs of white base piece, tuck tabs into bottom of bag over the sticky DSP tabs on front and back of bag.
Stamp “Best Day Ever” on white card stock and cut using banner Thinlit. Layer on Curry card stock and cut banner end. Staple to front of bag.
Squeeze top of bag together. Capture the center of both trims in the clothespin and clip to keep the bag shut!

Making Cards with Project Life

Instead of the regularly scheduled Crafty Friend's Monday posts, I thought I would take the opportunity in these last few days of Sale-A-Bration to show you this wonderful card set using the This Day Project Life Mini collection available for FREE through Sale-A-Bration!

I think this is a wonderful way to create a whole set of cards- to use or give as a gift! All you need are the Notecards, adhesive and some punches! Of course, some of the cards could use some sentiments stamped, so any favorite stamp set will do! As with any project, you can make these as simple or complex as you like: add ribbon, buttons, coloured cardstock if you like!
