Hey there friends! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! As you can tell from my last post date, December has gone incredibly FAST for me! I always have such high hopes for my time but with 3 kids, a full-time job, Christmas shopping, sending out cards, etc…life sure zooms by!

I enjoyed a lovely, quiet Christmas at home with my family and finally got some stamping done that I can share. Today’s card is using the Darling Donkeys stamp set from our upcoming Sale-A-Bration sale that is starting January 5th, 2021!

Stamp Set: Darling Donkeys SAB (155264)

  • Paper: Smoky Slate (131202); Rococo Rose (150882); Whisper White (**); Shimmery White (101910); Oh So Ombre DSP SAB (155225)
  • Ink: Memento (132708)
  • Stampin’ Blends: Smoky Slate (154904); Rococo Rose (154900); Flirty Flamingo (154884); Granny Apple Green (154885)
  • Accessories: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss (149653); Stitched Rectangle Dies (151820); From My Heart Faceted Gems (151154); Paper Snips (103579); Dimensionals (104430); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110775)

Dimensions

  • Smoky Slate: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Rococo Rose: 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Whisper White: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″; Inside cut out 2 3/4″ x 4″; 1″ x 2 3/8″ stitched rectangle
  • Oh So Ombre DSP: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″

Directions

  1. Adhere the designer series paper to the Rococo Rose cardstock.
  2. Cut out a 2 3/4″ x 4″ Stitched Rectangle opening from the Whisper White cardstock. Adhere to the card.
  3. Stamp greeting on to scrap Whisper White cardstock, cut out using the 1″ x 2 3/8″ Stitched Rectangle Die. Add to the card using dimensionals.
  4. Stamp the donkey onto Shimmery White cardstock using Memento Black ink. Give it time to dry or use a Heat Tool before colouring.
  5. Use Blends to colour. Cut out using Paper Snips. Add to the card using Dimensionals.

Snowy Birthday

Measurements: 

  • Card Base: Coastal Cabana 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”
  • Cardstock #2: Whisper White 5-1/2” x 3-1/2”,3-1/2” x 3” (for die-cut)
  • Inside Cardstock: Whisper White 5-1/4” x 4”

Instructions:

  1. Score and fold the Coastal Cabana card base in half as you would if you were making a normal card.
  2. Stamp the snowman using the Black Memento Ink on the 3-1/2” x 3” piece of Whisper White piece. Die-cut the snowman.
    1. Colour the snowman’s scarf and hat with Light Just Jade Stampin’ Blends marker.
    2. Colour the berries on the hat with the Light Real Red Stampin’ Blends marker.
    3. Colour the leaves on the hat with the Dark Just Jade Stampin’ Blends marker.
    4. Colour the nose with Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends marker.
    5. Colour the arms/branches with Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends marker.
    6. Colour the shading/sketch marks on the snowman with Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends marker.
  3. Die-cut one side of the 5-1/2” x 3-1/2” Whisper White using one of the border dies from the Ornate Borders collection.
    1. Using the Sponges and Coastal Cabana ink, sponge the center until you get the colour and size you want to achieve.
    2. Ink up the large tree with Just Jade and remove any ink from the smaller tree and stamp the large tree on the left side of the card. Next, ink up the smaller tree and remove any ink that is on the large tree and stamp the smaller tree to the right side.  (Note: If you have a Just Jade marker (not a Blends) you can use that to ink up the trees separately.)
    3. Use the Stampin’ White Chalk Marker to colour the snow areas on the 2 trees.
    4. Stamp Happy Birthday with Just Jade ink.
    5. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the snowman and adhere between the trees.
    6. Glue this whole piece to the front of the card.
  4. Wrap a piece of the ribbon around the front of the card next to the fold and tie a knot.
  5. For the inside of the card, stamp the trees on the lower left and the sentiment in the center near the top. Then glue to the inside of the card.
