Friends & Flowers and Party Wishes Birthday Card

Posted on May 10, 2016May 9, 2016 by Josee

Hello!

The card I've got to show you today is a fun way to use the retiring Friends & Flowers Stamp set, along with the sentiment from the retiring Party Wishes.  This would be a great card for a father who loves to fish or a little boy or girl.

Fishes stamped using Friends and Flowers Stamp Set and Party Wishes stamp set

How To Make It:

This card starts with a base of Calypso Coral. Then, I took a sheet of Whisper White and Pacific Point and cut them to the same size. I cut some circles out of the Pacific Point layer using the Circles Collection Framelits and then stamped the Whisper White with the wave stamp from Playful Pals with Pacific Point ink to create a watery effect for the fish. The Pacific Point layer was adhered to the Whisper White layer.

The sentiment was stamped with Basic Black on Vellum cardstock and heat set with the Heat Tool. The vellum piece was then stapled to the Pacific Point and Whisper White layers and then the whole thing was adhered to the card base.

Friends and Flowers, Party Wishes, stamp set, Stampin UpThe fish and fins from Friends & Flowers were stamped with Calpyso Coral ink on Whisper White and punched out using the Festive Flower Builder Punch. Glue Dots were used to attach the fins to the fish body and then the fish were attached to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamps:

Friends & Flowers- 140508 wood, 140511 clear mount; Party Wishes- 140651 wood, 140961 clear mount; Playful Pals- 140506 photopolymer

Paper:

Calypso Coral- 122925, Pacific Point- 111350, Whisper White-100730 , Vellum Cardstock-101856

Ink:

Calypso Coral ink-126983 , Basic Black Archival- 140931 , Pacific Point ink- 126951

Other:

Festive Flower Builder Punch-139682; Heat Tool-129053 ,Handheld Mini Stapler-139083, Silver Mini Staples-135847, Circles Collection Framelits- 130911 ; Glue Dots- 103683, Stampin' Dimensionals-104430

Good Morning!! Happy Friday!!

This weekend is Mother's Day weekend. Always a mix of feelings for me on this weekend, but I am totally looking forward to being spoiled by my own family (hint. hint. wink) I hope you have something to look forward to this weekend too!

Today's card would actually be a great Mother's Day card with the pretty pastels and maybe with a change in the sentiment. This card uses the Flower Shop stamp set and matching Pansy Punch, the Petite Petals stamp set and matching Petite Petals punch, as well as some retiring stamp sets, A Dozen Thoughts and Summer Silhouettes.

Flower Shop stamp set, A Dozen Thoughts stamp set, Brick Wall Textured Embossing Folder, Bow Builder Punch, pastel, hand stamped card

How To Make It:

Ink up the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (the side with the Sizzix label on it) using the brayer and gently stamp with the embossing folder onto the Very Vanilla layer.

Randomly stamp the leaves image from Summer Silhouettes in all 4 corners of the Very Vanilla card layer.

Stamp 1 large flower from Flower Shop set and 5 small flowers from Petite Petals stamp set in Pink Pirouette onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card. Punch out and curl using a bone folder and attach to the card layer using Glue Dots, layering one of the smaller flowers inside the larger flower. Attach Pearl Basic Jewels to the centre of the flowers.

Stamp ‘Hello’ onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Card and punch out using the Bow Builder Punch. Punch an extra shape from Pink Pirouette card and cut horizontally in half. Attach the Pink layers to the back of the ‘Hello’ to add a border. Attach to the card layer using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Adhere to the Tip Top Taupe layer before adding to the Pink Pirouette card base.

You’ve Got This Watercolor

Posted on May 5, 2016May 2, 2016 by Josee

social_retired2016_demo_Apr1816_NA_3 (1)

Hello!

This gorgeous watercolored card I am sharing today uses the You've Got This stamp set and the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack for a wonderful combination. The Pretty Petals paper is retiring May 31st- so if you love this look, get the paper while you can!

You've Got This, Stampin Up, watercolor, hand stamped card

How To Make It:

Stamp the flower on Watercolor Paper using White Craft Ink. Cover it with White Embossing Powder and emboss using the Heat Tool.

With the Watermelon Wonder stamp pad closed, squeeze the lid on to the stamp pad inside. This allows you to pick up ink on the top of the inside case to create a palette. Then, use that ink to color the embossed flower using your Aqua Painter to pick up the ink from the top of the stamp pad case. Work slowly to get a wide variety of light and dark color within the small petal areas of the flower. Let that dry.

Color the stem the same way using Mint Macaron ink ~ lightly.

Then, add the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper to the card base.  Add Stampin' Dimensionals to the Watercolor Paper and adhere to the front of the card.

Supplies Used:

Stamps:

You've Got This (#139572)

Paper:

Cucumber Crush (#138335), Watercolor Paper (#122959), Designer Series Paper – Pretty Petals Paper Stack (#138442)

Ink:

Whisper White Craft Ink (#101731), Watermelon Wonder (#138323), Mint Macaron (#138326)

Other:

Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430), Aqua Painter (#103954), Heat Tool (#129053), White Embossing Powder (#109132)

I hope you will give this technique a try! If you do, I would love the see you share your projects on my Facebook page!
