Christmas Pines Watercolor Christmas Card

Posted on December 9, 2016December 7, 2016 by Josee

Hello! Happy Friday!

In case you haven't noticed a pattern, I have loved playing with the Christmas Pines stamp set! smileyI found this to be one of those stamp sets you can really get so many different looks from. You can see the other cards I created here, here, here , here and here– just to name a few wink.

Christmas Pines, Stampin Up, Watercolor resist, Christmas card

How To Make It:

Start this card with a base of Emerald Envy cardstock. Then add a layer of Whisper White cardstock.

On a layer of Shimmery White cardstock, stamp the sentiment from Christmas Pines with Versamark (or Whisper White Craft ink) and immediately sprinkle White Stampin' Emboss powder and melt it with the Heat Tool.

Then, take the Emerald Envy ink pad and press the ink pad into the lid, open it up and you will have some ink on your lid. Take the Aqua Painter and add several drops of water to the ink and mix it up. Then take the inky water and drop it in the middle of the Shimmery White paper and spread it around until you get the look you want. Dry it with the Heat Tool being careful not to melt the sentiment 🙂

Tip: Use some Washi Tape to hold the Shimmery White paper down while you watercolor so that the paper doesn't warp.

Stamp the pine boughs from the Christmas Pines stamp set with Emerald Envy ink around the edge of the Shimmery White layer. Before adhering this layer to the card front, add two strips of Cherry Cobbler cardstock with the ends punched with the Banner Triple Punch to each end of the layer.

Adhere the Shimmery White stamped layer and then add some Pearls Basics Jewels to finish it off!
