Thoughtful Branches Christmas Card

Posted on August 18, 2016August 16, 2016 by Josee

Good Morning!

I know, I know. How could I? How dare I? How could I possibly be thinking about Christmas in August?! Truthfully, I'm really not! lol! I am enjoying this heat and even the rain for as long as I can.  But, since the Thoughtful Branches bundle is only available until the end of August, I really wanted to show you how versatile it really is!! (AND…the Stampin' Up Holiday Catalogue is coming September 1st so you will start seeing more Christmas projects soon enough! As crafters you know we need to get an early start!! I'm curious actually, if you make Christmas cards, when do you start making yours? Let me know in the comments below!)

How To Make It:

Score and fold the Whisper White Thick cardstock in half for the card base and layer with Real Red cardstock on top.

Stamp “Happy Wonderful Christmas” from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set in Real Red ink at bottom right corner of smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock and layer onto card base.

Die cut the Beautiful Branches Thinlit tree four times from Whisper White Thick cardstock scraps. Glue the layers together using the Fine Tip Glue Pen to make one thicker piece. Adhere to the card center.

Stamp the bird from Thoughtful Branches in Real Red on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and die cut. Adhere to the tree with a Glue Dot.

On the inside of the card, stamp “Many Happy Moments. . .” and another bird.

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop: Metallics

Posted on December 14, 2015December 15, 2015 by Josee

logo

Hello!

Welcome to this month's 'Metallics' Blog Hop! I loved making this project, and could easily make more. The Big Shot and Delicate Ornament Thinlits make this a project you could duplicate over and over-  maybe a little teacher gift or just a little something extra dangling from the ribbon on that special gift.

Homemade Christmas tree ornament, Big Shot, coaster board, Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies, pompom trim

Admittedly, I made this ornament a while back when the new Holiday catalogue first came out. As soon as I saw the Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies and the Red Foil Sheets I knew I wanted to make a 3D ornament with them! They are the perfect dies to use for an ornament like this because they are symmetrical. I had a good laugh after I made it and then had a better look at the front cover of the Holiday catalogue and I realized I was not the only one to think of doing it! lol! laugh But that's okay- I made it my own.

  • *I die cut the same ornament three times out of the Red Foil using the new Precision Base Plate for a nice clean cut
  • *Then used the solid shaped matching die to cut a base from the Vanilla Coaster Board.
  • *I used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score down the centers of the coaster board die cuts so that they would bend in the middle when I glued them together.
  • *Before I glued them together I placed the Silver Cording Trim through a Home for the Holidays poinsettia button and placed the button at the botttom of the ornament allowing the excess trim to come out the top for hanging. I tied the end of that and placed the tied piece inside the ornament to create a clean loop at the top.
  • *Then, I used some Multi- Adhesive to glue each coaster board die cut together at the edges and a bit in the center to hold the cording trim, and held them together for a bit while they dried.
  • *Then, with the Fine Tip Glue Pen, I added adhesive to the backs of the Red Foil die cuts and adhered them onto the coaster board.
  • *Once that was dry, I tied a bow of Silver Cording Trim and adding two bits of Red Pom Pom Trim to dangle on each side

Now it's ready for hanging on my Christmas tree  ðŸ™‚

Punched Santa Christmas Card

Posted on December 11, 2015December 11, 2015 by Josee
December's HOSTESS CODE is: QMQDBPA7
Use it to qualify for Jo-Jo Points; click to find out more

Hello! Happy Friday!

The card I want to show you today was put together for one of my younger card class attendees. 🙂 It started out as this card, but with a little bit of punching, some glue dots and some inspiration from Pinterest I came up with this.

Punched Santa Christmas card, Bird Builder punch, circle punch, Wonderful Wreath Framelits

So, this card has the same Crumb Cake cardstock base and Merry Moments Designer Series Paper punched with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

I die cut a larger circle from Real Red and the Circles Collection Framelits, then used the solid wreath die from Wonderful Wreath Framelits to cut the Whisper White beard and hat trim.

Then, I used the Large Oval punch to cut some Blushing Bride cardstock for his face and also punched a 3/4" circle for his mouth and a 1/2" circle punch for his nose.

I punched some Basic Black cardstock with the 1/2" circle punch for his eyes and used a Chalk Marker to add some whites.

The 1/2" circle punch was used to punch some Real Red for his mouth and layered on the Blushing Bride piece.

His moustached was punched from Whisper White using the Bird Builder punch, punched twice. Everything was adhered together with glue dots to allow placed the smaller pieces under the moustache.

I kept this simple for the card class, but if I was making this again, I would also ink up the edges of each piece to give it more depth and may add some rosey cheeks too! And, I would add a sentiment stamped onto the Crumb Cake layer as well.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: None

Paper: Whisper White- 100730, Crumb Cake cardstock-120953, Real Red cardstock-102482, Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack-139595, Basic Black- 121045, Blushing Bride- 131198

Ink: None

Other: Circles Collection Framelits-130911, Wonderful Wreath Framelits- 135851, Large Oval punch- 119855, 1/2" circle punch-119869, 3/4" circle punch- 119873, Bird Builder punch- 117191, White Stampin' Chalk Marker-132133, Curvy Corner Trio Punch-139683,  SNAIL Adhesive- 104332, Refill- 104331, Mini Glue Dots- 103683

November's HOSTESS CODE is: HHYBZP2P

Hello!

Today's card is a great sample of a quick and easy card with a 'punch' of bling added in!

Flurry of Wishes, Christmas card, winter card, snowflake, hand stamped, quick and easy card, Bow Builder punch, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper

This card started with a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock, and then a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock. Then on a layer of Whisper White, start by stamping the larger snowflake as shown in Bermuda Bay ink, then fit the other stamped snowflakes around it in Tempting Turquoise ink.

Stamp the sentiment in Basic Black, then adhere the stamped layer to the mat and adhere to the card base.

Adhere a strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper and then punch the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper two times with the Bow Builder punch; assemble your bow with glue dots and attach to the strip. Quick and easy!! You could even bling it up more by adding some Rhinestones to some of the snowflake centers!
