Happy Monday! One fun technique that’s been going around in the Stampin’ Up world is making backgrounds with alcohol ink. Stampin’ Up! makes it really easy to create fun backgrounds using so many different colours of our Stampin’ Blends Markers.
This card was fairly simple to make and I love how it turned out.
Dimensions
-
- Balmy Blue: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Granny Apple Green: 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White: 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Vellum Cardstock: 3 3/4″ x 5″
Directions
- Colour the vellum cardstock randomly with the Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend Marker. Add rubbing alcohol (70% or higher) on top of colouring with an Aquapainter. You can move the vellum around to get the colour moving.
- Use a heat tool to continue to move the colour around while drying it. (If you don’t have a heat tool, you can just let it air dry.)
- Tip: if you want to see an amazing video tutorial, check out the amazing cards that were made on “Handcrafted by Chameray”.
- Punch out a template so that you can stamp the images to fit the punch. Stamp the images on Shimmery White cardstock, then punch out.
- Colour the flowers using the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend and the leaves using the Granny Apple Green Blends. Add Shimmer to the flowers and leaves using Wink of Stella.
- Adhere 2 of the flowers and 2 of the leaves on the Vellum using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. Add the last flower and leaf using Dimensionals.
- Add gems to the middle of the flowers.
- Stamp the greeting on the Vellum using Stazon Black ink. Let dry.
- Add glue from the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to the back of the vellum where the flowers are and where the darker blue spots and behind the greeting. Adhere to the Basic White cardstock.
- Adhere all the layers together.
