Happy October! Who loves fun backgrounds?? If you do, you’ll love trying out the Northern Lights Technique!! Even though I’ve been a demonstrator for over 18 years, this is the first time I’ve tried it! 😉
I’m pretty happy about how they turned out, hope you like them too! 🙂
Directions for Northern Lights Background:
- Cut up a Stampin’ Sponge in 6 wedges and use one piece for each colour you use.
- Pick up colour from the ink pad using the wide part of the sponge. To apply to the cardstock, you can squeeze it a bit so that you are adding colour to a more specific section. You can either use a swiping motion or a circular motion to add colour.
- I started with the yellow colour in a few spots, then added the other colours around it.
- You will find it looks better if you overlap the colours a bit so that they blend together.
- Sponge Misty Moonlight around the top and the sides in a circular motion. Add enough ink to create a deep colour that looks like nighttime.
- The great part of this technique is that there is no right or wrong way and you can keep adding a bit of colour until you like your background.
