Happy Friday!
I hope you have some fun planned for this weekend! Maybe a little stampin' time carved in there somewhere? I hope so! It feels great to get creative!! In fact, I've got a class coming up on September 9th! If you are in the Ottawa area, come on over and join the fun! We are going to get started on our Christmas cards!! Check out the class page for details!
Don't forget, if you have not ordered the Thoughtful Branches Bundle yet, make sure you do so before August 31st!
I am just loving all the layers on today's card! This card uses the Thankful Thoughts stamp set and You've Got This for some background texture.
How To Make It:
Cut the Very Vanilla card base at 4-1/4” x 11” , score @ 5 ½”, then ink the large background stamp image from the You’ve Got This set in Crumb Cake. Stamp the image onto scrap paper, huff on the image, and stamp a 2nd time onto the front of the card base. Set aside.
Ink up the sentiment from the Thankful Thoughts set using VersaMark and stamp onto the upper left corner of the 3-1/8” x 3-1/2” Very Vanilla cardstock piece. Cover the entire sentiment with Clear Embossing Powder, tap of excess powder and set using the Heat Tool on high making sure to move the heat tool to the next area as the powder melts. NOTE: if you overheat the embossing powder, it will eventually melt into the paper and will not give you the shine and raised texture of the images. Let cool.
Use a Stamping Sponge, rub and ‘swirl’ ink over top of the embossed images. Use Dapper Denim for the bottom half and Emerald Envy for the top half. Sponge the ink over the images and be sure to cover all cardstock areas that have not been embossed. NOTE: rub in ink lightly and gradually add more to fit your tastes. You can always add more ink, but you can’t take away.
Wipe the ink off of the embossed images using a napkin or paper towel. The embossing ‘resists’ the ink…only the non-embossed areas will soak in the ink that has been rubbed on.
Using the largest Project Life Card Framelit, position one rounded corner to line up with the upper lefthand corner of the finished sentiment piece. Line up the sentiment to the bottom right hand corner of the card base at an angle and trim off the excess using Paper Snips. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Using the Aqua Painter, squeeze enough water from the barrel to add water to the brush. Flick water onto the finished sentiment layer to create speckles.
Fold the 2" piece of 5/8” Burlap Ribbon in half and stick together using 2 Glue Dots. Use Glue Dots to attach to the back of the finished sentiment layer.
Wrap the 20" piece of Metallic Gold Thread around approximately 4-5 times (depends on how big you want your circles) and add to the back of the finished sentiment layer using a Glue Dot.
Using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, die cut a swirly die from Crushed Curry cardstock and attach the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Using the Flourish Thinlits, die cut a set of leaves from Emerald Envy cardstock and attach to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Position the sentiment layer so that the right and bottom edges are flush with the edges of the card base.
Add some gold sequins from the Metallic Sequin Assortment to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
