Good Morning!
Welcome to this month's 'A New Year' Blog Hop! Christmas is coming very soon, I hope you are all ready! Of course, once Christmas comes, New Year's seems to come by super quickly too and the holidays are over before you know it!
A new year often brings some new changes, new goals, new resolutions so I like to celebrate the New Year with a bang! I think of parties with family and friends! Lots of noise makers, party hats and good times 🙂 I thought that making a party favor for each place setting, or even to bring as a hostess gift would be a great way to use my Stampin' Up supplies! 🙂
I just love this Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlet die! I have gushed so many times about the many creative projects I've seen by other stampers using this die- there are just so many ways to use it! I really love how simple it is to make a WOW project like this one!
I made the box two-toned by cutting first with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and then again with the Gold Foil paper. I then embossed the gold foil paper with the Large Polka Dots embossing folder, then used some sticky strip to attach the two die cuts together at the bottom to make the box. So easy!! Honestly, the hardest part was deciding how to make the tag!
I decided to use the same papers and the Star Framelits dies to create the tag.
I used only part of the stamp in the Mingle All the Way set to create the sentiment. I love this stamp as is, but it just fit better than using the whole stamp. 🙂 I had to be super careful, but I used Versamark to ink only the words I wanted and then embossed it with Black Detail embossing powder. Just make sure to gently scrape of any areas where you don't want the black powder to be on the gold foil before you heat emboss it! You may also find it easier to stamp on the gold foil before you cut it with the Star Framelits.
I used a small piece of sticky strip to attach the two larger stars together so they would stay offset, punched holes in the solid stars and strung everything together using the Gold Baker's Twine. Then I used the white Organza ribbon to tie a lovely bow on the top of the box, and before I finished tying the bow, I threaded the twine into the knot of the bow and finished the bow off.
And it really was as simple as it sounds! I could easily make one of these for each place setting, filling each with some chocolate or after dinner mints. The Big Shot just makes it so easy!!
I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I enjoyed making it!
