I can feel it…you know that feeling that summer truly is over, whether or not the calendar agrees. Mother Nature and the calendar are rarely in sync. Fall isn’t officially here for a few more weeks, but the weather around here feels like it’s here already. There are some trees turning colors already and today’s card was inspired by the change of seasons. This stamped, thankful for you card features the new Painted Harvest stamp set from Stampin’ Up’s new 2017 Holiday catalogue.
How To Make This Hand Stamped Card:
This card starts with a base of Fresh Fig cardstock for the card base. Then, two pieces of Whisper White cardstock were cut to layer on top.
On the top piece of Whisper White cardstock, the background was created using the Brushstrokes background stamp. The stamp was inked up three times and stamped in different directions to create the plaid look. I used Crushed Curry ink and Old Olive ink- with one of the layers being stamped ‘off’ first to create a softer look. Both layers were adhered to the cardfront.
A piece of Crushed Curry cardstock was run through the Big Shot in the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. This was then adhered to the card front.
The flower from the Painted Harvest stamp set was then stamped in three steps: the first layer was stamped with Crushed Curry ink, the second was stamped with Fresh Fig ink and the center of the flower was stamped with Old Olive ink.
The greeting from the Painted Harvest stamp set was then stamped with Basic Black ink on top of the stamped flower. Then, the flower was punched with the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch.
On a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock, the leaves from the Painted Harvest stamp set were stamped with Old Olive ink and then punched out using the coordinating Leaf Punch. This was adhered to the back of the punched circle and then added to the cardfront.
To finish off the card, a Fresh Fig colored 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bow Embellishment was added.
