Then I take the Aqua Painter and dip it into the alcohol and then again into the marker- you can add more or less alcohol depending on how concentrated you want the colors to be. The more alcohol, the less intense the color will be. Use a tissue to wipe the Aqua Painter tip between colors and it's really that simple! |
All the light pink you see on her dress and hair bow are all Melon Mambo- that shows you how light the colors come out with this coloring technique, which is great because it allows you to shadow and darken the areas you want to. Her hair and the dog's fur were colored with a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write marker using the same technique. Now for her skin, I had to experiment a little as we don't carry the perfect light skin tone- I ended up mixing a bit of Pink Pirouette and Crumb Cake on the acrylic block and making a very light mix of the colors. You can experiment with mixing the colors to get a skin tone that works for you.
Now, for the sentiment I used the NEW Washi Label punch to create the layered look. I punched Melon Mambo, Smoky Slate and Whisper White from the same punch- but for the Smoky Slate and Whisper White pieces I put them back into the punch- but only one end of the punch out and punched it again to shorten the punch out to create the multi sizes you see there. Then of course I stamped the sentiment with Melon Mambo onto the Whisper White.
To finish it off, I add some of the NEW Smoky Slate Thick Baker's Twine and adhered all the layers onto the card base.
