It's that time of year. School is almost over and for some, that means graduation day! Oh, I wish our kids could stop growing just a little, don't you? Today's card is a fun graduation card using some cardstock to make a graduation cap, and the retiring Lucky Stars Embossing Folder for a great background!
How To Make This Graduation Card:
Start with the Basic Black cardstock as a cardbase, then emboss the Whisper White cardstock using the retiring Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Adhere to the cardfront using Fast Fuse adhesive.
Working with a 2-1/2” x 4” piece of Basic Black cardstock, pencil mark the center of all 4 sides at 1-1/4” & 2”, respectively. Place cardstock in trimmer and cut diagonally from center mark to adjacent center mark. Do this on all 4 sides to create a diamond shape for the top of the graduation cap.
Punch 2 half circles in the lower portion of a piece of 2” x 2” Basic Black cardstock using the 1” circle punch. Adhere to back of the diamond shaped black cardstock to create the graduation cap. Adhere the graduation cap to the upper left side of card front using Fast Fuse adhesive.
To Create A Tassel
Take about 20" of Whisper White Baker's Twine and wrap around your 2 fingers about 5 times. Remove from your fingers and wrap remaining twine around top portion of the twine about 3 times; tie knot. Slide excess twine strand thru top loops. Cut lower loops to create tassels.
Punch a 3/4” circle from a scrap piece of Basic Black cardstock. Add a Stampin' Dimensional to the back. Place single twine strand from top of tassel under dimensional and attach to center of cap on card front. Use a Mini Glue Dot to anchor the top of the tassel to cap.
Stamp the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set using Basic Black ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. Punch the greeting out using the Classic Label Punch– punching close to the greeting the first time, and punching again at the other end to get a closer punch out.
Punch the Silver Glimmer Paper using the Classic Label Punch. Adhere the punched greeting using Mini Glue Dots onto the Silver Glimmer Paper punchout. Adhere to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.
