Touches of Texture Greeting Card

Posted on August 16, 2016July 28, 2016 by Josee

Good Morning!

Today's card features a fun way to use your inks to get the look of black embossing powder when you don't have any! These gorgeous images are from the Touches of Texture stamp set and the sentiment is from Cottage Greetings.

touches of texture, bee, handstamped card, Stampin' Up,

How To Make It:

Start with a card base of Crumb Cake cardstock and then add another layer of Crumb Cake on top of that.

On the top layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock, rub the Embossing Buddy over it before stamping the flower image from the Touches of Texture stamp set – ink up the stamp with VersaMark and then again with Archival Black Ink before stamping

Clean the stamp and repeat the VersaMark/Archival Black ink another 2 times in different positions across the bottom of the Bermuda Bay cardstock. Work swiftly to avoid the ink drying as you will be heat embossing the images.

Cover all stamped images with Clear embossing powder, then melt and heat set with Heat Tool.

Using the White Chalk Marker colour-in the flowers & blossoms. Once dry, colour over the top of the White Chalk Marker with Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Marker and then a touch of Rose Red Stampin’ Write marker in the centres.

Colour in the leaves with Cucumber Crush Stampin’ Write Marker.

Stamp the lace image from the Touches of Texture stamp set with Crumb Cake ink on the strip of Whisper White Cardstock. Once dry dust with the Embossing Buddy.

Ink up the sentiment from Cottage Greetings with VersaMark and then Black Archival Ink and stamp onto the Whisper White cardstock strip. Sprinkle with Clear Embossing powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.

VersaMark/Black Archival ink the bee image from Touches of Texture onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and the cover with Clear Embossing Powder. Heat set. Colour the bee image in with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker.

Using a Glue Dot, adhere the bee to the Whisper White strip at an angle. Cut off any overhanging Whisper White cardstock (past the bee).

Use the Handheld Stapler to staple the Very Vanilla Lace Trim and the sentiment banner on to the upper right-hand-side of the Bermuda Bay cardstock.

Adhere the Bermuda Bay front panel on to the Crumb Cake layer on the card base.

As a final touch, add some small Pearl Basics Jewels at the top right of the card.

Bear Hugs Happy Birthday Card

Posted on August 12, 2016July 27, 2016 by Josee

Good Morning!

I hope you have something wonderful planned for your weekend! Will you get time to stamp this weekend? How about a fun birthday card to start off your weekend? This card may look like a lot of cutting is needed, but the Big Shot and Framelits make it an easy task! Isn't it cute?

bear hugs, Stampin' Up

How To Make It:

Stamp the balloon from Celebrate Today twice, using Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugarplum, stamping the solid images first by stamping off, then the dots with full ink. Stamp the bows from Celebrate Today on Whisper White using Dapper Denim ink.

Cut out the balloon and bow images with the Balloon Framelits in the Big Shot die cut machine. Use the Magnetic Platform to keep the dies and your stamped images lined up perfectly.

Stamp the bear image from the Bear Hugs stamp set on Crumb Cake card stock and cut out with Bear Hugs Framelits in the Big Shot.

Stamp Happy Birthday from the Confetti Celebration stamp set on a small rectangle of Whisper White cardstock, then color with the Blender Pens and Peak-a-boo Peach ink pad (squeeze the ink pad when closed to pool the ink in the lid for coloring). Adhere to the bear to make it look like he is holding the sentiment.

Stamp the washi tape image from the Build a Birthday stamp set in Dapper Denim ink at the bottom of the card base.

Add the bear and balloon die cuts with Stampin' Dimensionals to finish off the card.
