Cheers to the Year Christmas Card

Posted on November 3, 2017October 13, 2017 by Josee

In case you haven’t noticed, I have been making quite a few cards using the new Cheers to the Year stamp set. I can’t seem to help it! It really is such a versatile stamp set and there are some many different looks you can get with this stamp set!

How To Make This Christmas Card:

Start with a card base of Old Olive cardstock. Then on a layer of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the circle designs from the Cheers to the Year stamp set in Old Olive and Bermuda Bay inks. Add some little hearts in Real Red ink.

Add some Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon that has a piece of red tinsel from the Mini Tinsel Trim Combo Pack weaved around it (tape the ribbon to the back of this layer) and then adhere this layer to the cardfront.

Die cut a scalloped circle from Real Red cardstock using the Layering Circles Framelits.

On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the greeting and the designs using the Cheers to the Year stamp set and Basic Black, Old Olive and Real Red ink. Punch out the greeting using the 2 1/4″ Circle Punch and adhere the circle layers together, adding them to the cardfront with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers Now Available!

Posted on November 1, 2017November 1, 2017 by Josee

Some super exciting news to share with you today!

Stampin’ Up has launched a new line of alcohol markers called Stampin’ Blends!! And, they are available starting today!

If you are not familiar with alcohol markers, alcohol markers contain alcohol and dye ink- in this case the Stampin’ Up colors! The alcohol allows wonderful color blending and reducing coloring lines. These alcohol markers are also great for coloring your embellishments like brads, pearls, rhinestones our White Perfect Accents and even work on vellum and acetate. There are some popular brands on the market being used in the stamp world, like Copics and Spectrum Noir and although those brands are great, it can be hard to find the right colors to coordinate with the Stampin’ Up suite of coordinating colors! If you love that our cardstock, ink and embellishments all match, you will love these new Stampin’ Blends too!  The best part is they can be purchased individually or in combo packs so you always have a light and a dark version of the color to blend together!

Cheers to the Year Mini Pizza Box

Posted on October 31, 2017October 13, 2017 by Josee

I just love how cute these Mini Pizza Boxes are and if you saw this one, you just might agree! So, today I’ve got a Christmas mini card set to share with you using the Cheers to the Year stamp set.

How To Make This Mini Pizza Box Gift Set:

Start by decorating your Mini Pizza Box:  I stamped snowflakes from the Cheers to the Year stamp set in Versamark ink all over a 3″ strip of Pool Party cardstock and embossed them with White Embossing Powder and a heat tool. I then cut the embossed strip- one to fit the Mini Pizza Box and the leftover strips will be used for the cards. I added a punched circle of the copper Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper and a stamped and punched greeting for the top. A knot of Copper Trim was added on top and some Copper Metallic Thread was adhered under the punched circles.

The cards were made by cutting Whisper White cardstock to 3″ x6″ and scored at 3″ to fit the Mini Whisper White envelopes.

Each card was decorated differently using the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper and cut strips from the embossed Pool Party card stock I made in the first step. The greetings were stamped with Chocolate Chip ink and the snowflakes behind the greetings were all stamped using Pool Party ink all punched with different sized Circle Punches. Copper Trim was added to each card as well. Stampin’ Dimensionals were also used to pop some of the pieces off the cards.

These gift card sets are a great way to use up scrap pieces left over from different projects! I’d love to see what you make with these Mini Pizza Boxes- feel free to leave your version in the comments here or share them on my Facebook page! I’d love to see them!

Season Like Christmas Embossing Paste Snow

Posted on October 27, 2017October 13, 2017 by Josee

Today’s card is a fun Christmas card to make, because you get to play with some Embossing Paste! 🙂 We are making some snow on the stamped Christmas tree from the Season Like Christmas stamp set from the Stampin’ Up 2017 Holiday Catalogue.

How To Make This Christmas Card:

Score and fold the Thick Whisper White cardstock, the card front through the Big Shot in the Oh My Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

On a piece of Whisper White, stamp the tree images in layers using Pear Pizzazz for the first tree layer, Old Olive for the shadow layer and Soft Suede ink for the trunk.

Die cut the stamped layer using the Layering Ovals Framelits. Die cut the next size oval for the Fresh Fig layer.
Lay a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive to the card front where you want the ribbon (see photo). Remove the backing and lay a small piece Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon vertically over top of the horizontal strip of adhesive- this will be the piece you will tie. Add another strip of Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon to the cardfront pressing down and trimming off any excess on the ends, then tie the first piece around the adhered piece.

Adhere both oval layers together and adhere to the cardfront with SNAIL Adhesive.

Stamp the greeting on Whisper White with Fresh Fig ink and die cut using the small Stitched Shape Framelits oval and adhere to the cardfront using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Take the small palette knife and add some Embossing Paste to the stamped tree to look like snow- over the branches and some on the ‘ground’- heat with the Heat Tool to dry. It’s okay if it puffs up a bit!
Die cut a small star from Crushed Curry cardstock using the row of stars die from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits and add to the tree top with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
