header_PP_demo_5.2015

I have a cute project to show you today! If you need a Father's Day card, this one's for you!

guy greetings father day card

You can download the project sheet for this card here:  Guy Greetings Father Day Vest Card

Here are the supplies used to make this card:

NOTE: You may have noticed that the Designer Series Paper (DSP) used on this card is no longer available (it is the Adventure Bound DSP from the Occasions catalogue)-if you don't already own that DSP any DSP will work, especially if it has a masculine feel to it. My suggestions are:  Go Wild DSP, Timeless Elegance DSP, Everyday Chic DSP or even the Neutrals Colour Collection. I have listed them in the supplies so that you can find them easily. Keep in mind, you may want to change the cardstock colours you use to coordinate with the DSP you choose.

Measurements:

  • Early Espresso 7 7/8” X 7 7/8”
  • Early Espresso Scrap
  • Very Vanilla 4 X 6 ¼”

Instructions:

  1. Use Envelope Punch Board and the Early Espresso 7 7/8” x 7 7/8” cardstock and score at 3 3/8” mark, punch then turn paper, line up with previous score line, Punch and score, continue doing that on all sides.
  2. Cut off two shorter flaps so that you only have the two longer flaps for your vest.
  3. Pick a piece of DSP, trace one flap onto the DSP
  4. Cut that out with snips, attach with snail adhesive.  I found it is easiest to cover Early Espresso Flap with snail, then place the DSP onto the flap.
  5. Then use the rest of the DSP and trace other flap then cut that out.
  6. Use snail over entire flap, place DSP then close the other flap over.  It’s ok that it won’t cover all of it since you will be using adhesive and sealing the vest shut.
  7. To make insert card take the Very Vanilla and cut 1“ slits at the ¾” mark on your paper trimmer
  8. Snip off ¼” from each side of the “collar”
  9. Then fold your collar into the center
  10. Add dimensionals to the collar so it sticks up a bit.
  11. Punch two of the bow pieces to create the bow tie
  12. Attach to the shirt with glue dots.
  13. Use scraps of Early Espresso and DSP to make the vest pocket and handkerchief coming out of the pocket.
  14. Use a very thin strip of DSP to make the “thread” for your button.

Come back tomorrow for another card using Sprinkles of Life! 🙂

Moon Lake

Hello!

Welcome back for another look at masculine cards you can make for the guy on your list 🙂 I think today's card can go either way with respect to masculine or feminine. It has a soft colour palette but a rustic look that could appeal to either side.

More Guy Greetings

Posted on May 14, 2015May 11, 2015 by Josee

Good Morning!

Thanks for dropping by today! I've got another great masculine card to share today! Today's card uses Guy Greetings. You've probably seen alot of this set lately, and for a good reason- it is an amazing set for creating masculine cards! Not only does it have many images to reflect whatever your guy is into, it contains a lot of sentiments for almost any occasion! Well worth the cost of the stamp set! I think it's a stamp set you can use over and over again.

guy greetings

As you can see on this card, the images can be used to create gorgeous backgrounds too!

Here are the supplies used on this card:

Measurement:

  • Hello Honey:  8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”; ½” x 3 ¾”
  • Very Vanilla:  5 1/8” x 2 ½”, 3” x 3” (for circle punch)
  • Basic Gray:  3” x 3” (for starburst circle)

Instructions:

  1. Stamp antique car on 3” x 3” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, then punch out using 2 ½” circle punch.
  2. Cut starburst circle using Framelits and Big Shot.  The middle size fits perfectly behind the 2 ½” circle punch!
  3. On the 5 1/8” x 2 ½” piece of vanilla, stamp the antique car randomly.  Stamp 2-3 times before re-inking your stamp, to create a nice background.
  4. Stamp sentiment on strip of Hello Honey, then cut banner tails.
  5. Adhere all parts of your card!  I used Snail adhesive on all but the sentiment—stampin’ dimensionals were used for that!
  6. Mail to a friend, and make his day!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another one!

Here are the supplies that were used on this card:

First, stamp the tools all over the Pacific Point card Base in Pacific Point ink and then run the front of the card base through the Big Shot (or Texture Boutique) with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder. Then, stamp the vintage car onto the Naturals Ivory cardstock in Soft Suede and use the Blender pens to soften the ink and colour in the car.  Stamp the Happy Birthday in Pacific Point underneath the car as shown. Adhere the Naturals Ivory layer to the Soft Suede Layer and then onto the card front.

Don't forget to check out this week's NEW Weekly Deals!:

Come back tomorrow to check out another great masculine card for the guys in your life!
