Big News Baby!

Hello! 

Welcome back! Can you believe it's the end of April already?? I don't know about you, but April has really flown by! But, hey that just means summer is that much closer right?! wink

I've got a cute and simple card to show you today. I had a little fun doing some 'punch art' on this one. smiley

StampingJo Big News baby punch art

I started this card with a Pear Pizzazz card base.  Then I used Very Vanilla and embossed half of it with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Embossing Folder (which is being retired!), and stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip from Big News on the bottom half of the layer. 

StampingJo baby punch artThen the baby was punched out using the 1" Circle Punch in Very Vanilla, and the body is the smallest oval from the Ovals Collection Framelit dies in Blushing Bride. I inked the edges up with the Rose Coral Chalk ink just to give it some texture. I also used a Sponge Dauber with the ink to give some colour to her cheeks after I added facial details with a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write marker. I had a little circle punchout lying around, so I used that to trace the facial features. 

To finish the baby off, I punched the Blushing Bride with the 1" circle punch and cut out a little strip to create the headband and added the Rhinestone to bling it up! 🙂 

I added some Pear Pizzaz Cotton ribbon and adhered the layer to the card base.

Watercolour Thanks

Good Day!

Today I wanted to show you another watercoloured card using the same flower from Butterfly Basics.

I started this card with a Whisper White card base, then I embossed a layer of Perfect Plum with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. 

I stamped the flower with Tuxedo Black on on strip of Whisper White about 2" wide x 5" long. I then used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to punch both ends of the strip to create a tag. I coloured the flower with my Stampin' Write markers and an Aqua Painter with a bit of alcohol instead of water, also colouring around the flower. I then attached some Whisper White Cotton Ribbon to the tag and adhered it to the Perfect Plum layer and adhered it all to the Whisper White base.

I had a bit of fun with the the 'Thanks' cut out. I actually did a little watercolouring on Vellum cardstock and dried it with the Heat Tool, then cut it out with the Hello You Thinlit Dies. I then used the 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere it to the embossed layer.

Creativ Festival

Good Morning!

Today I've got a cute project to show you. I think this is a great Father's Day project, but….I also think with some creative changes to the stamps and colours used this could be modified to make a great Mother's Day gift on a bottle of wine too 🙂

Here are the supplies needed for this project: 

 

 

Measurements:            

  • Card Stock: Basic Gray—2.5” x 6.75” scored at 2” from top , Naturals White— 4.25” x 1.5” and scrap for banner
  • DSP: 1 piece of your favorite Adventure Bound DSP — 1” x 4.25” and co-ordinating 1/2” x 4.25” . Optional: Cut a piece of the DSP to cover the front of the bottle (hint: you may end up with a scrap for the thinner strip needed on bib)
  • Chevron Ribbon: One 6” length and one 1.5” for bowtie

Instructions:

  1. Punch 1-3/8” circle on the 2” end of the Basic Gray card stock to fit over neck of bottle
  2. Stamp “Father” in Island Indigo on the bottom of the Naturals White and “World’s Greatest” on the scrap, then trim banner. Stamp strong man in Basic Gray above “Father”.
  3. Adhere stamped piece and DSP to front of bottle bib. Attach banner with dimensional
  4. Atttach 6” length of ribbon in a loop using sticky strip on one end. Wrap 1-1/2” ribbon around middle to form a bowtie and adhere with sticky strip.
  5. Optional: Cover front of bottle with DSP to match bib.
  6. Fold bib on score line and put on neck of bottle BEFORE attaching bowtie with dimensional 🙂
