Life Is Better With Friends Like You

Today I wanted to share a fun card that was inspired by a Stampin’ Up! Home Office card. The first card was made by Stampin’ Up using the Daffodil Daydream Bundle.
They created the card using post-it notes to mask off parts of the cardstock, then using the Blending Brushes to add the colour directly on to the Basic White cardstock.
I decided that I wanted to cut out the pieces first and colour them after.

Dimensions

• Melon Mambo: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
• Basic White: 4″ x 5 1/4″
• Basic White: 3 of  7/8″ x 2 7/8″ Stitched Rectangle Die Cuts

Directions

1. Cut out 3 Basic White pieces with the 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ Stitched Rectangle Die.
2. Add  individual colours to each using the Blending Brushes with the Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight ink pads.
3. Stamp the splatter spots from the Friendly Hello stamp set with the matching ink colours. (Alternative: If you don’t have the splatter stamp, you can press ink on to a stamping block, water it down and then pick it up with a brush, then flick ink on to the layer.)
4. Adhere the 3 coloured pieces on the Basic White layer leaving the stitched part of the left side off the layer a bit. Cut off the excess pieces.
5. Use the Stiched With Whimsy large die to cut around the Basic White layer. Adhere it to the card base.
6. Stamp the greeting on a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark ink. (Tip: use the retired Embossing Buddy or a Dryer sheet to rub across cardstock before stamping to take the static out of the cardstock)
7. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder on, tap off excess and heat set with Heat Tool. Cut out using Paper Snips. Add to the card using Dimensionals.
8. Stamp the flowers on to a piece of Basic White cardstock using Versamark ink.
9. Sprinkle Black Embossing Powder on top, tap off excess and heat set with the Heat Tool.
10. Colour using the coordinating Stampin’ Write Markers. Cut out using Paper Snips. Adhere it to the card.
11. Tie the Baker’s Twine in a bow and add it to the card using a Mini Glue Dot.
