Hi stamping friends! Today, I thought I’d share with you some samples featuring coloured designer paper. It’s super fun to take a patterned paper and to be able to change it up as you want. There are so many different things you can do with our Stampin’ Blends and below you’ll see 3 different colours…I’m not sure which one I like best?!
Each of these cards uses the Magnolia Lane Designer Paper with the same design but coloured differently. 🙂
For this card, I used the Daffodil Delight Combo pack with Daffodil Delight cardstock. The greeting came from the Seriously The Best stamp set and I used Paper Snips to cut it out. I coloured the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend. For the background of the card, I used the Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp.
This is the first of the group of cards that I made and I think it’s my favourite of the bunch.  The card was made using Highland Heather cardstock. I used the Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends Markers Combo Pack to colour in the flowers. The greeting is from the So Sentimental Cling Stamp Set and cut out using the Stitched Shaped Dies and a die-cutting machine. The Starburst Punch  was then used to punch out the layer in Basic Black cardstock. For the background of the card, I used the Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp with Highland Heather ink. Lastly, I added  Whisper White 5/8″Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card.
I was worried this card was going to look a too Christmas-y, but, I think with this greeting, it can be an everyday design too. The colour of the flower uses the Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends Markers which are more pink than a true red. I even coloured the Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the Dark Lovely Lipstick Blend Marker. I used the So Sentimental Bundle with comes with the greeting stamp set and the dies that coordinate.
This card was the easiest of the 4 as I left the designer paper untouched to show the difference. The designer paper coordinates with
Basic Black, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, So Saffron and Whisper White. I love the little touch of Petal Pink inside the flower, so I decided to use the Petal Pink cardstock that matched. For the greeting, I used the Memento Black Ink Pad and the Petal Pink Stampin’ Marker that you can get in the Subtles Stampin’ Write Marker pack. I put some Washi Tape on the stamp to cover the “hello”, then used the Memento Ink Pad to ink up the “friend”. I quickly took off the washi tape, then used the Petal Pink marker to add colour to “hello”. (You want to do it quickly so that the black ink doesn’t dry). Once both works are inked, I huffed on the stamp to give it a bit more moisture before stamping the greeting on the Whisper White cardstock.
Alternately, if you don’t have the marker, you can do the same by inking each work individually and washing the stamp well between colours. You can use washi tape to cover the word that you are not wanting ink on. I then used the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out the greeting and the Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine as the ribbon.
