Merriest Wishes, Stampin Up Canada, Christmas card

Merriest Wishes Christmas Card

Posted on October 18, 2016October 17, 2016 by Josee

Good Morning!

I just love the non-traditional colours of this card! The Sweet Sugarplum and Pear Pizzazz are a fun combination for this card that features the Merriest Wishes stamp set and Merry Tags Framelits Dies along with the Letters For You stamp set.

What other non-traditional colors do you use for Christmas cards?

Merriest Wishes, Stampin Up Canada, Christmas card

How To Make It:

Score and fold the Sweet Sugarplum cardbase and set aside

On the Whisper White layer stamp the ‘dots’ from the Merriest Wishes stamp set with Pear Pizzazz ink at the top

Then stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set in Basic Black on the bottom

Die cut the Pear Pizzazz cardstock with the Merry Tags Framelits Dies– this will be your letter ‘O’- use the diecut to space out the letters for the next step

Use Sweet Sugarplum ink to stamp the letters ‘J’ and ‘Y’ from the Letters for You stamp set spacing them around the diecut

Tie a piece of Metallic Gold Thread to the top of the ornament die cut and then carefully slide the Bow Paper Clip Embellishment on to the top of the diecut. Add some SNAIL Adhesive to the back of the ornament and add to the card front

Take the remainder of the Gold Metallic Thread and bring it to the back of the Whisper White layer- add SNAIL Adhesive to the back of the layer ensuring there is some in place to hold the thread too; Add this piece to the cardbase

Tie a piece of Sweet Sugarplum Glitter ribbon to the Gold Metallic Thread and use a Glue Dot to hold it in place.

Detailed Santa Thinlits, Christmas Card, Shaker card

Detailed Santa Christmas Shaker Card

Posted on October 14, 2016October 11, 2016 by Josee

Hello! Happy Friday!

Just a reminder for those that have RSVP'd, card class is tonight!

I don't know about you, but I love the Big Shot! If you are a bit of a lazy crafter like me you probably love the Big Shot too! I mean, who would want to spend so much time hand cutting something that could be die cut in less than half the time and with SO much more precision! It's cards like this one that make me love the Big Shot even more because I would never endeavor to make something that looks this complicated! And the real beauty is that I could make a hundred of these cards and my hands would not cramp up from cutting them all! laugh

detailed-santa-thinlit-shaker-card-by-stampingjo

How To Make It:

Now, this shaker card starts with a cardbase of Whisper White THICK cardstock. It's a must for the extra 'weight' this card will be carrying. Next, die cut the santa using the Big Shot (of course!) and the Detailed Santa Thinlits dies– I also used the Precision Plate for better detailed cutting and the die brush to help take the die cut out of the die!

Then, on the back of the die cut, add some Tear & Tape adhesive around the frame of the die cut, peel off the adhesive backing and add a square of clear Window Sheet, then cover the frame again with Foam Adhesive Strips making sure there are no openings in the foam strips- you don't want any stuff shaking out of the frame!

Stamp the sentiment from the Greetings From Santa Stamp set in Basic Black ink at the bottom of the cardfront.

Before we add the Detailed Santa shaker onto the card front, we need to add our shaker fill. I chose to take my Sequin Trims in Bermuda Bay, Gold and Blushing Bride and remove the sequins from the trim. Just enough to add enough sparkle to the shaker card. Carefully place all the sequins in the middle of where you will put your shaker front.

Peel off the Foam Adhesive Strip liners and carefully place the Detailed Santa die cut over the sequins and press down on the edges to ensure a good seal.

As a final touch, place a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the bottom of the Detailed Santa die cut, remove the liner strip and add the Sweet Sugarplum Glitter Ribbon. Use a Glue Dot to add a little knot of Glitter Ribbon to the front of that ribbon strip to make it look like it's tied.

Stamps:

Greetings from Santa stamp set-143269 CM, 142069 wood,

Paper:

Whisper White cardstock-100730, Whisper White Thick Cardstock-140272, Window Sheets-142314

Ink:

Other:

Posted on October 13, 2016October 11, 2016 by Josee

Good Morning!

Today's card uses the Cookie Cutter Christmas Santa with the Large Letter Framelits to create a HO HO HO Christmas card!

cookie-cutter-christmas-santa-brick-wall-by-stampingjo

How To Make It:

This card starts with a simple cardbase of Real Red cardstock. Then, emboss the next layer of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and add that to the card base.

Then, cut the letters 'HO HO HO' using the Large Letters Framelits dies out of Always Artichoke cardstock. Use the Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the letters to the cardfront.

Then, use Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock to stamp the santa from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set and color it in with a Real Red Stampin' Write marker and a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker. Use the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch to punch the santa out and use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere to the cardfront.

Lastly, use the Jolly Hat Builder Punch to cut some Red Glimmer Paper and Whisper White cardstock to punch the santa hat and then assemble the pieces using Glue Dots. Add the hat to the card front as show using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Christmas Pines Christmas Card

Posted on October 12, 2016October 11, 2016 by Josee

Hello!

Just a reminder, if you are in the Ottawa area looking for a card class or just a night out :), there is still time to RSVP for this Friday's Christmas Card Class!

I think you are going to love the simplicity of today's card 🙂 If you are looking for a Christmas card that doesn't use a lot of cardmaking supplies, this card is a great option! All you need for this is the Christmas Pines stamp set, the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Metallic Thread Combo– all from the 2016 Holiday catalogue!

christmas-pines

You could even simplify this card further by skipping the embossing and stamping the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler or Real Red ink.

How To Make It:

This card starts with a base of Shimmer White Cardstock 5.5" x 8.5", scored at 4 1/4”.

Run the card front only through the Big Shot using the Pine Bough Embossing Folder, as shown.

Stamp the filigree frame image from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Emerald Envy ink on a small piece of Shimmer White Cardstock. Allow it to dry completely.

Stamp the greeting from Christmas Pines on top of the stamped frame image in Versamark ink. Cover with Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder and tap off the excess. Heat emboss with the Heat Tool.

Using Paper Snips, hand cut the greeting and frame as shown.

Add Fast Fuse to the back of the cut greeting. Loop both colors of Metallic Thread around three fingers about five times. Add this loop of metallic thread to the Fast Fuse on the back of the greeting cut out.

Adhere the greeting and metallic thread to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish off the card, add a large Pearl Basic Jewel to both sides of the greeting.

Stamps:

Christmas Pines (142049)

Paper:

Shimmer White (101910)

Ink:

Emerald Envy (141396); Versamark (102283)

Other:

Pine Bough Embossing Folder (141831); Metallic Thread Combo Pack (Cherry Cobbler & Emerald Envy) (142003); Real Red Glitter Stampin’ Emboss Powder (142635); Heat Tool (129053); Pearl Basic Jewels (119247); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Fast Fuse (129026); Big Shot (143263); Paper Snips (103579)

I hope you have a stampin' good day!
