Penned and Painted stamped birthday card

Posted on May 24, 2017May 23, 2017 by Josee

Hello! Today's card is a simple, stamped birthday card using the Penned and Painted stamp set from Stampin' Up's retiring Annual Catalogue. This card was made a little differently- the Pacific Point cardstock you see is actually a single layer that makes up the card base, while the Whisper White cardstock is folded to be the card front and the inside of the card.

Penned and Painted stamp set, Labeler Alphabet stamp set, Stampin Up

How To Make This Hand Stamped Birthday Card:

Fold the Whisper White cardstock (4" x10.5", scored at 5.25")in half to form the card front.

To make the flowers on the cardfront:

Stamp the ‘outline’ flower image from the Penned and Painted stamp set using Melon Mambo ink onto piece of scrap paper. Cut it out using Paper Snips to use for a mask for the next steps.

Then, stamp the ‘outline’ flower image from the Penned and Painted stamp set on the Whisper White card front using Melon Mambo ink -using the mask to cover the flowers where the flowers overlap before stamping the next one. Stamp the ‘solid’ flower image using Melon Mambo ink using the mask as needed- stamping off on scrap paper first to get a lighter inked image. Finally, stamp the ‘center’ flower image using Melon Mambo ink.

Stamp the ‘stems’ and ‘leaves’ using Old Olive ink.

Add Dimension:

Run the Whisper White card front through Big Shot using Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then, sponge lightly over the brick front using Smoky Slate ink and a Stampin’ Sponge.

Adhere the Whisper White card front to Pacific Point card stock creating the base.

Add a Custom Birthday Greeting:

Stamp Happy Birthday using the Labeler Alphabet stamps on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Pacific Point ink. Cut out each letter individually. Adhere to card front using Mini Glue Dots.

Finish off the card by adding Rhinestone Basic Jewels to each flower center.
