I’m really excited about this project tutorial! I think this is a fabulous project and definetely in time to use for your teacher gifts! I’m actually going to use the template for the bird house as a gift box for other goodies for the teacher’s instead of the card set!
If you’re a member of my ONLINE INSPIRATION CLUB, you should have already received this in your inbox.
If you are not, you can purchase this for only $12.95. You’ll receive, by email, a 21-page tutorial which will include the printable template for the adorable bird house, over 100 photo’s with step-by-step directions for each photo. It sounds complicated and intimidating…but, really it’s quite easy!
Did you see what it looks like outside? Ok, I know not all of you live nearby BUT ugggghhh….I hate snow! lol We had about 20cm (8 in) of snow last night…yuck!!! It’s the cold and wet kind of snow too! You should have seen all the last minute parents shopping for boots for kids last night at Walmart…yes, I was one of them! So much for planning ahead.
Here’s a hilarious photo I found online from last year’s record snow falls. I know we’re not quite there yet, but, I heard we are getting alot of snow again this year!!! 🙁 Ok, I know there are some good parts to winter…but, remind me….what are they again? lol
Alright…time for some stamping fun! This card is the second project we made at Stamp Club last week. We made a card using the Faux Metal Technique.

Step 3: Heat the embossing powder with the heat tool until the powder turns into a shimmery silver. Once it cools down repeat step 1 & 2 two more times.
Step 4: Ink up your stamp with versamark and set aside. After covering and heating your with your third layer, quickly stamp the versamark inked flower into the hot embossed cardstock. Press down, wiggle and pull up.
Voila! You have yourself a beautiful faux metal layer!
I had so much fun today creating this Triangle Explosion Box. It’s actually a project idea that’s been sitting on my display shelf for years originally created in a Wow Swap I was in. The original box was decorated with baby stamps, but, I thought how fun this box would be as a Christmas party favour filled with CHOCOLATE of course! hee, hee
Here’s a few of the steps to create this box!
*Start with a 8 1/2 x 11" Whisper White Cardstock and randomly stamp a pattern.
*I used the stamp set "Snow Burst" #110386 with Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue and Night of Navy Classic ink pads.
Print out the Template and score on each of the lines. (Template not to scale.) I hope it’s easy to follow for you…it’s the first time I make a template.
To score the straight lines, I used the scoring blade on my cutter. To score the "W" and the "M", I used my ruler and Stylus with a soft surface below my paper.
Start folding your score marks as show below. If you’re finding that your box is not folding properly, you may have to slightly trim some of your points. You can use your bone folder to create crisper creases!
Grag some ribbon to tie around & decorate with a matching tag! Voila, your done!
