TUTORIAL THURSDAY: Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set

Instructions:

  1. Stamp the Dandelions and greeting on the Daffodil Delight Brights paper in Gorgeous Grape ink.
  2. Accent the centers of the Daffodils with the Champagne Rhinestones.
  3. Add shimmer with Wink to Stella to the stamped Dandelions.
  4. Adhere the papers to the card front with Stampin’ Seal adhesive.
  5. Adhere the Rainbow Glimmer over the full card front.

Idea #2

Measurements: 

  • Card Base: 5-1/2”  x  8-1/2”  scored at 4-1/4”
  • Whisper White mat: 4”  x  5 ¼”
  • Gorgeous Grape mat: 4 5/8”  x  3 ½”
  • Watercolor Paper:  4 ½ ”  x  3 3/8”

Instructions:

  1. Fold card base on the score line and burnish crease using the bone folder.
  2. Using Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape ink pads, press top and bottom lids together to create a pool of colour inside the top lid of each pad.
  3. Fill water painter with water and brush clear water across the watercolour paper before adding any colour.
  4. Using the Water Painter, pick up some of the Pacific Point ink from the inside of the lid to create a pool of colour. Add this first colour to one area of your watercolour paper.
  5. Add Gorgeous Grape using the same process.
  6. Allow to air dry thoroughly before stamping the image.
  7. Using sponge brayer, add ink to the inside of the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, place Whisper White mat inside and run it through your embossing machine.
  8. Adhere this dry embossed cardstock mat to the front of the card base using a strong adhesive and set aside.
  9. Set up the Dandelion stamp on the Stamparatus for correct placement on the dry watercolour paper.
  10. When the watercolour wash is fully dry, ink up the Dandelion stamp with Pacific Point and stamp image on watercolour paper using Stamparatus.
  11. Use the same process with the Stamparatus for the sentiment.
  12. Adhere completed watercolour image to the Gorgeous Grape mat using a strong adhesive.
  13. Place Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the Pacific Point mat and adhere to dry embossed Whisper White mat.
  14. Add Frosted Epoxy Droplets to the stamped image.

  • Thick Whisper White Card Base: 8 ½” x 5 ½”
  • Balmy Blue: 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Highland Heather: 5 ¼” x 2”
  • Designer Paper: 2 ¾” x 4 ½”

Instructions:

  1. Emboss the Balmy Blue cardstock using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder then adhere it to the Whisper White card base.
  2. Adhere the Highland Heather cardstock on to the card.
  3. Stamp the dandelion image on to the Designer Paper using Versamark and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Adhere the designer paper to the Whisper White mat then to the card.
  4. Stamp sentiment using Highland Heather ink on to the Whisper White layer.
  5. Add it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  1. Cut and fold Granny Apple Green card base
  2. Stamp and heat emboss multiple feathers on Basic Black layer using Versamark Ink and Stampin Emboss white powder
  3. Die-cut scalloped circle for sentiment using piece of Basic Back scrap
  4. Heat emboss sentiment
  5. Using the various colours Stampin Blends colour feathers
  6. Adhere Basic Black layer to Whisper White layer
  7. Wrap Forever Greenery trim around these layers multiple times
  8. Adhere this layer to Granny Apple Green card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.   Attach sentiment circle using Stampin Dimensionals

Measurements: 

  • Card Base (Petal Pink): 7-3/4”  x  4-1/4”  scored at 5-1/2”
  • Petal Pink mats: 3-3/4”  x  3”;    2-1/4”  x  2-1/4”

Instructions:

  1. Fold card base on the score line and burnish with a bone folder to get a good crease
  2. Adhere the taller strip of designer paper to the outside fold of card base
  3. Emboss the smaller piece of Whisper White using embossing machine and the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and adhere to Petal Pink mat (3-3/4” x  3”)
  4. Stamp sentiment on Whisper White scrap using Memento ink and die cut
  5. Stamp 2 flowers in Memento Ink on Whisper White and colour using Stampin’ Blends listed above
  6. Cut flowers using paper snips and add sparkle using Wink of Stella
  7. Arrange flowers and sentiment on embossed and matted Whisper White panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals
  8. Adhere 3 rhinestones to sentiment
  9. Adhere this panel only to the left card front flap using liquid glue making sure you are able to open the card
  10. On the Whisper White panel for the inside of the card (4” x 5-1/4”), stamp flower using Memento on the lower-left corner and colour using Stampin’ Blends
  11. On the 2-1/4” Petal Pink square and 2” designer paper square — cut diagonally from corner to corner to create 2 triangles using Stampin’ Trimmer
  12. Glue designer paper triangle to Petal Pink triangle (save the second completed triangle for another project)
  13. On the backside of one of the triangles, attach a dimensional in each of the 3 corners (see photo) and adhere to the upper-right edge of your Whisper White mat (4” x 5-1/4”) (see photo)
  14. You can now adhere your completed Whisper White mat to the inside of the card
  15. Close card tucking the upper right corner of your card front panel under the triangle in the upper right corner (see top photo)

  • Card Base: Magenta Madness Cardstock 11” x 4-1/4”. Score and fold at 5-1/2”.

Instructions:

  1. Adhere Gray Granite Cardstock to Magenta Madness Cardstock.
  2. Stamp the background image on the Whisper White Cardstock layer repeatedly using Gray Granite Ink.
  3. Emboss cardstock using the Greenery Embossing Folder. Add to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  4. Stamp the sentiment on Magenta Madness Cardstock using VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with the Heat Tool.
  5. Use the die from the Tasteful Labels Dies to cut the shape. Adhere to the left of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Stamp two of the feather image on Whisper White Cardstock using VersaMark Ink. Sprinkle with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and melt with the Heat Tool.
  7. Use a Sponge Dauber to add Gray Granite Ink the top half of each feather. Use a Sponge Dauber to add Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to the bottom half of each feather. Cut each feather with Paper snips and glue to the left of the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  8. Tie a bow with the ribbon and add to the bottom of the feathers with Mini Glue Dots.
  9. Add a few Champagne Rhinestone Jewels to the background.

Instructions:

  1. Stamp tree with girl image with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Whisper White cardstock. Add cat (or dog or bunny). Colour in the image with these suggested Stampin Blends: tree leaves in Old Olive, tree trunk in Crumb Cake, cat and shoes in Smoky Slate, butterflies in Purple Posy, girl’s hair and book in Crumb Cake, shirt in Daffodil Delight, pants in Night of Navy, the sweater in Calypso Coral, face and hands in Petal Pink, grass in Soft Sea Foam, and sky in Pool Party.
  2. Emboss Whisper White piece with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder then the Pool Party card base with one of the Little Details Embossing Folders.
  3. Die-cut Whisper White with the 2-1/2” x 3-5/8” rectangle and the Soft Suede with 3” x 4” rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
  4. Stamp sentiment on Pool Party strip and trim the left edge with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. With Paper Trimmer, trim sentiment to be 2-1/2” long.
  5. Affix Whisper White to Soft Suede then that piece to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Do the same with the sentiment piece, aligning flush right.
  6. Wrap 12” Linen Thread around a ruler or similar sized object 3-4 times. Slip off the ruler and tie a knot with 2” Linen Thread around the center. Trim ends of knot piece and ends of ribbon as desired with Paper Snips. With a dot of Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere thread to the tree trunk.
  7. With Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere five of the Just Jade gems from Flowers for Every Season Gems to the card as shown. Set aside to dry.

  • Granny Apple Green: 3 ¾” x 5”
  • Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper: 3 ½” X 4 ¾”

Instructions:

  1. Stamp images using Memento Ink.
  2. Use ink pads and Water Painters to colour card front. TIP: Press the ink pad on to a clear stamping block, then grab some colour from the block with a Water Painter. Don’t overdo water the paper!  Going over it too much could damage the paper fibers.
  3. Stamp sentiment using Memento Ink & cut out with Dies.
  4. When watercolouring is dry, adhere the Granny Apple Green piece at an angle, then adhere the watercolour paper layer over that at an angle.
  5. Adhere greeting using dimensionals and decorate with pearls.

Photo Tutorial: Watercoloured backgrounds using Stampin’ Blocks

This is going to be a long post!!! lol

I’ve been having a ton of fun creating watercoloured backgrounds using ink colours, water and a stamping block. For these cards I used Block E, but of course you can recreate the technique with any size block to make different styled cards.

The fun part of this technique is that your background will turn out slightly different each time depending on how much ink you place on your block and how much water you spray.

CARD #1

Measurements

  • Rich Razzleberry: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Shimmery White: 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Whisper White: 3/4″ x 1 5/8″

  • I added highlighting to the flowers with the Chalk Marker, then used Wink of Stella to add some shimmer

CARD #3

Measurements

  • Highland Heather: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Gorgeous Grape: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Basic Black: 3″ x 4 1/4″ (Stitched Rectangle Die)
  • Shimmery White: 2 5/8″ x 4″ (Stitched Rectangle Die)

Products

Tips: 

  • The great part about the new Wrapped in Texture Folders is that it gives you more options. You get 2 different patterns and each folder is 3-3/8″ x 6-1/4″ so you can choose to only emboss part of the card (left side, right side, top, bottom or middle) of your cardstock. To do the entire cardstock, I just match it up the best I can the second time I run it through my die-cut machine twice.
  • For the ribbon, I tied 3 together on the left hand side and then adhered the ends to the back of the cardstock.

Photo Tutorial

1. To create the background, I used 3 different purples (Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Rich Razzleberry).

2. I started with the lightest colour at the top and pressed each colour into the block a few times to make the colours a bit darker.

 

3. You don’t have to cover the entire block, some white space actually looks good.

 4. Use the Stampin’ Spritzer to spray the block. I sprayed it about 4-5 times.
Tip: If you put too much water on it, your colours will overblend and it won’t stay a rectangle as much. If you don’t put enough water on it, you’ll have spots that are not blended at all.
5. Here is what my block looked like before I placed it on my cardstock. 6. When you place it on the cardstock, your colours will start to blend.
(I found this one a little dry at the top, but, it worked out nicely anyhow)

7. Your paper will be warped initially, you can let it air dry or use a heat tool to dry it quickly.

 

8. If you have a spot with too much water, you can gently remove a bit at a time with a tissue or paper towel.

9. If you want to add a bit more to your background, you can use the remaining colour from your block with a scrunched up piece of plastic wrap.

 

 10. Gently tap on to your wet cardstock or dry cardstock.
(If it’s still wet, you will find that it will blend a bit.)

11. You will get a different look each time!

 

 

 12. Now it’s time to pick out your stamps and make a card.
(For the background that was a bit dry at the top, I used one of my  stitched rectangular dies to cut it a bit before using.)

Instructions:

    1. Using the Greenery Embossing Folder emboss both the left and the right side of the Whisper White layer. This is one of the thinner folders.  It will overlap in the center, but that will be covered.  It will look best if you try to make the design go straight across all the way.
    2. Add the patterned paper to the center of the Whisper White layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
    3. Adhere the white layer and the Calypso Coral layer to the base of the card.
    4. Using the Birds & More dies cut two of the leaf stems from Just Jade card stock. Glue these so that one stem goes down towards the lower right corner.  You will probably need to trim.  Be careful or the stem will go into several parts.  The other stem will go toward the upper left.
    5. Stamp the nest on Whisper White card stock in Soft Suede ink and cut out with the Birds & More dies. Add with dimensionals.
    6. Stamp the 2 birds, also on Whisper White. First stamp the more detailed part with Misty Moonlight ink.  Then stamp over with the more solid stamp in Seaside Spray.  Cut out with the dies.
    7. Stamp the eggs in Seaside Spray. The stamp stamps 3 eggs.  The dies will cut out the three individual eggs at once.  I used only 2 of the eggs.
    8. Glue the birds so that they face each other. Add the eggs with glue dots.
    9. Stamp three flowers in Calypso Coral, cut out with dies and add with glue dots.
    10. The saying HELLO is from the Forever Fern stamp set. Stamp in Misty Moonlight, trim, and add with dimensionals.

Idea #2

Measurements: 

  • Card Base: Whisper White- 5 ½” x 8 ½” score on the long side at 4 ¼”
  • Cardstock #2:Whisper White- 2 7/8” x 2 7/8” and scrap for bird 2 ¼” x 1 ¼”
  • Cardstock #3:Seaside Spray- 5 ¼” x 4”
  • Designer Paper: In Good Taste (2 pieces in different patterns) 5 1/8” x 3 7/8” and 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”
  • Color Velveteen Paper in Cinnamon Cider: approx. 5” x 2”

Instructions:

  1. Fold card base on score line and adhere to the Seaside Spray cardstock layer to the front.
  2. Then, adhere the designer paper layer using Stampin’ SEAL.
  3. Stamp your sentiment in the upper portion of your smaller designer paper piece and attach it to the Whisper White square then to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.
  4. Die-cut the branch with Cinnamon Cider Velveteen Paper. Add it to the card base using Mini Glue Dots.
  5. Stamp your bird using Seaside Spray ink then die cut with the Birds & More Dies.
  6. Attach your cute bird with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  7. Cut a small piece of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and colour it with your light Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends on a piece of scrap paper. When it is dry tie a small bow and attach it to the card front with a Mini Glue Dot.
  8. Add a few Elegant Faceted Gems to your card and you are finished.

Measurements:

  • Just Jade: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” scored at 4-1/4”, a separate piece of Just Jade for the inside die cut piece.
  • Very Vanilla: Front: 5-3/8” x 3-9/16”, 1” wide for the sentiment, Inside: 5-3/8” x 3-5/8” & 3-1/2” x 5-1/4”
  • Designer Paper: 5-1/4” x 3-7/16”

Instructions:

  1. Die-cut the front edge, cut a second one for the inside
  2. Die-cut the circular image from Crumb Cake Card Stock, then lay on the largest circle from the Layering Circles Dies and cut again. *This can be done either way by cutting the circle first, then the circle branch.
  3. Stamp the two birds using Memento ink onto Very Vanilla Card Stock and cut out with the dies. Colour their bellies with the Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.
  4. Stamp the sentiment of your choice onto 1” wide Very Vanilla card stock (I used Celebrate Sunflowers)
  5. Assemble your card by adding the Very Vanilla front piece to the card front, then the Designer Paper. Using the adhesive of your choice, adhere the circular leafy image.
  6. Attach the two birds and the sentiment with dimensionals. Scatter some Champagne Rhinestones on the front
  7. INSIDE: attach the leafy strip that you cut out from Just Jade Card Stock on to the left side of the 5-1/4” x 3-1/2” piece of Very Vanilla, trim as need. Attach to the second piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and then to the inside of your card. Attach it to the very left side so that it does not show from the front when your card is closed.
