Punched Santa Christmas Card

Hello! Happy Friday!

The card I want to show you today was put together for one of my younger card class attendees. 🙂 It started out as this card, but with a little bit of punching, some glue dots and some inspiration from Pinterest I came up with this.

Punched Santa Christmas card, Bird Builder punch, circle punch, Wonderful Wreath Framelits

So, this card has the same Crumb Cake cardstock base and Merry Moments Designer Series Paper punched with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.

I die cut a larger circle from Real Red and the Circles Collection Framelits, then used the solid wreath die from Wonderful Wreath Framelits to cut the Whisper White beard and hat trim.

Then, I used the Large Oval punch to cut some Blushing Bride cardstock for his face and also punched a 3/4" circle for his mouth and a 1/2" circle punch for his nose.

I punched some Basic Black cardstock with the 1/2" circle punch for his eyes and used a Chalk Marker to add some whites.

The 1/2" circle punch was used to punch some Real Red for his mouth and layered on the Blushing Bride piece.

His moustached was punched from Whisper White using the Bird Builder punch, punched twice. Everything was adhered together with glue dots to allow placed the smaller pieces under the moustache.

I kept this simple for the card class, but if I was making this again, I would also ink up the edges of each piece to give it more depth and may add some rosey cheeks too! And, I would add a sentiment stamped onto the Crumb Cake layer as well.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: None

Paper: Whisper White- 100730, Crumb Cake cardstock-120953, Real Red cardstock-102482, Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack-139595, Basic Black- 121045, Blushing Bride- 131198

Ink: None

Other: Circles Collection Framelits-130911, Wonderful Wreath Framelits- 135851, Large Oval punch- 119855, 1/2" circle punch-119869, 3/4" circle punch- 119873, Bird Builder punch- 117191, White Stampin' Chalk Marker-132133, Curvy Corner Trio Punch-139683,  SNAIL Adhesive- 104332, Refill- 104331, Mini Glue Dots- 103683

Snow Place Christmas Card

Posted on December 4, 2015November 30, 2015 by Josee
December's HOSTESS CODE is: QMQDBPA7
Use it to qualify for Jo-Jo Points; click to find out more

Good Morning!

Today's card was made for last night's card class- my last Christmas card class of the season!! Although that makes me a little panicked just saying that- because it means Christmas is THAT much closer- I just LOVE this penguin!

Snow Place, Home for Christmas buttons, Christmas card, hand stamped, Big Shot, washi label punch

This card was really rather simple to make. Start with a Real Red cardstock base. Cut a strip of Designer Series Paper- in this case Merry Moments from the Holiday catalogue and adhere it to the card base. Die cut the Gold Foil and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper using the Lots of Labels Framelits dies and adhere them together.

Stamp the penguin and matching scarf and die cut them both using the matching dies. Adhere them to the Labels die cuts with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp the sentiment on Real Red in Whisper White ink and cut them out into strips to seperate the words- then use the Washi Label punch to cut them to size- put the smaller word back in the punch just at one end to repunch the end to fit the wording. Adhere those on with Dimensionals.

Thread some Gold Baker's Twine through a Home for Christmas button and adhere to the Designer Series Paper with a glue dot.

Supplies Used:

  • Stamp Sets: Snow Place- 139738
  • Paper: Real Red Cardstock-102482, Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack-139595, Gold Foil sheet-132622, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper-135315, Whisper White cardstock-100730
  • Ink: Basic Black Archival Ink- 140931, Refill- 140928, Whisper White Ink-101731, Always Artichoke Ink-126972
  • Other: Lots of Labels Framelits- 138281, Washi Label punch- 138296, Snow Friends Framelits Dies-139664, Home For Christmas Designer Buttons- 139639, Gold Baker’s Twine-132975, SNAIL Adhesive- 104332, Refill- 104331, Mini Glue Dots- 103683, Stampin’ Dimensionals-104430

Santa’s Gifts Christmas Card

Posted on November 18, 2015November 18, 2015 by Josee
November's HOSTESS CODE is: HHYBZP2P
Use it to qualify for Jo-Jo Points; click to find out more

Good Morning!

If you missed yesterdays announcement about the Holiday Retired list, check it out here.

Today's card features a Christmas stamp set from the Annual catalogue!

Santa's Gifts, hand stamped, Christmas card, snowflake elements, Merry Moments dsp, Lots of Labels Framelits, Big Shot, watercolor, masking, easy card

This card was started with a base of Thick Whisper White cardstock. I am loving it for card bases! Then adhere the Merry Moments paper onto the card base.

Stamp Santa on Whisper White, stamp the ‘gift’ using a Post It note ‘mask’ (see tip below) to allow Santa to hold the gift.

Tip about the Post-It note mask: I also stamped Santa on a little sticky post it note, with the sticky side to the left, then I cut around his hand and front of his body to create the mask. Ideally you don't want to cut the sticky part off. After he was also stamped on the Whisper White, I lay the mask down on top of the stamped image to cover it, then stamped the gift over his hand. When you remove the mask it will look like Santa is holding the gift because you won't see the part of the gift box that is 'in' his hands.

Run the stamped Whisper White layer through the Big Shot with the Lots of Labels Framelits, and cut the next size up in Cherry Cobbler cardstock.

Use Aqua Painters and Cherry Cobbler ink to colour the Santa. Tip: You can use a marker and the Aqua Painter (I like to use a clear acrylic block and colour the marker onto it, then pick up the ink with the Aqua Painter), or use a stamp pad by pressing the ink pad onto the lid before sliding it open and picking up the ink with the Aqua Painter, or just use a drop of ink from a bottle of refill ink to ink up the Aqua Painter.

Adhere to the Cherry Cobbler mat and adhere to the Merry Moments DSP layer.

Stamp the sentiment on Whisper White and punch with the Washi Label punch, adhere to the front of the card. Add a Snowflake Element using the glue dots

Supplies Used: (Items in pink are Retiring products!)

Paper: Whisper White- 100730, Whisper White Thick Cardstock-140272, Cherry Cobbler cardstock-119685

Other: Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack-139595, Lots of Labels Framelits- 138281, Washi Label punch- 138296, Snowflake Elements- 139638, SNAIL Adhesive- 104332, Refill- 104331, Mini Glue Dots- 103683
