Stampin’ Up! Convention- Day 2 (part 2)

Posted on July 27, 2012July 31, 2012 by Josee

The day ended with a convention highlight–Awards Night. Demonstrators dressed up and spent the evening celebrating the accomplishments of some of our highest achievers, including the top performers in sales, recruiting, and leadership; Artisan Team members; incentive trip earners; Achievers' Bonus earners; Rising Stars; and Founder's Circle achievers.

Convention participants were also the first to hear the Getaway 2013 trip destination (San Diego) as well as the 2013 Managers' Reception destination (The Wizarding World of Harry PotterT at Universal Orlando® Resort).

Awards Night ended with Shelli extending heartfelt thanks to this year's Advisory Board members, then congratulating next year's board members: Heather Summers, Desiree Spenst, Amy Storrie, Ronda Wade, Mary Fish, and Patsy Waggoner.

Demonstrators then headed across the hall, where they enjoyed an after-party, complete with lively music, tasty treats, and plenty of time for one of their favorite things of all–visiting with each other!

Here are some of my pictures from Awards Night:

Each year top achievers are honoured with a free trip in September called Founder's Circle. This year, I was super excited to be recognized for the Founder's Circle trip with 5 of my team members…2 were not able to attend.

Here's when I got to go on stage…this photo really shows how short I am…lol.

This moment was so precious for me…there are 3 spots for top demonstrator in the "leadership" category and I was so excited that the Inky Divas were the top 3. In the picture is Maggie and I and Marlayne earned as well, but, was unable to attend convention this year. I am so proud of these ladies…they work really hard!

This part of the awards night was super SCARY, as part of the outgoing Adivory Board, we were asked to speak for 2 minutes about our experiences and I was terrified…thankfully, it was over quickly. I really love these ladies and have loved serving with them in this capacity this past year and am so grateful for the friendships I have made.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing bits of the awards night!

Stampin’ Up! Convention- Day 2 (part 1)

Posted on July 26, 2012July 25, 2012 by Josee

The first full day of convention dawned bright and early with demonstrators lined up outside Main Stage, excited to enter for Convention 2012's opening session. When the doors opened, demonstrators were greeted by hundreds of cheering Stampin' Up! employees, eager to show their appreciation for all our demonstrators do!

General session began with a lively, fun video, shot at the home office with dozens of employees celebrating our "I am" convention theme. Shelli warmly greeted the full house of demonstrators, welcoming them to Salt Lake City and inviting each demonstrator to think about who they are.

One of the highlights for me each year is to see how Stampin' Up! decorates the stage and the definetely did not dissapoint…what a lovely set:

jason dorseyThe session ended with keynote speaker, Jason Dorsey, speaking specifically about how to reach out and connect with Gen Y women, pointing out ways that this generation is unique, as well as highlighting things that we all share in common. He was both informative & HILARIOUS!!!

After the opening session, demonstrators attended breakout classes and Make & Take sessions. Demonstrators also spent lots of fun time visiting and swapping in the Gathering Place.

The afternoon general session opened with Sara greeting demonstrators and introducing the first march of Convention 2012–the Milestone Anniversary March–where demonstrators who have been with Stampin' Up! for 5, 10, 15, and 20 years are honored.

Following the march, demonstrators heard about MDS 2's exciting new features; Sara told the enthusiastic crowd that MDS 2 will be available on August 1. I cannot wait till it comes out!!!

Stampin’ Up! Convention- Day 1

Posted on July 25, 2012July 25, 2012 by Josee

On Wednesday, thousands of Stampin' Up! demonstrators flocked to Salt Lake City, swaps in hand, ready for Convention 2012!

All day long, demonstrators picked up their bags (a fun summer canvas look with a chevron pattern), hit Memento Mall (shopping!), strolled through the Demonstrator Resource Center, went camera-crazy around the display boards, and shared lots of laughter and hugs.

In addition, busses headed to Riverton throughout the day, where demonstrators were greeted by Stampin' Up! staff for the traditional home office tours. And many demonstrators took advantage of the open stamp time in the afternoon, getting a jump start on the wonderful Make & Take projects.

In the evening, demonstrators gathered for the first official convention activities–the (optional) Wednesday evening project classes–where they created pinboards, played with Designer Series Paper, met and learned from our amazing team of concept artists, or designed a My Digital Studio board book.

I had my team dinner for those Inky Divas who attended convention this year. Each Inky Diva received a special gift from me and many who didn't know anyone got to get to know others and became instant friends!

And this is just the beginning. Every day got better at Convention!

I had an absolutely fabulous time at convention this year. I had thought I'd get some cards posted and scheduled to go on my blog before I went, but, life took over and I barely had time to pack my bags! 🙂

I have tons to share about convention, but for today I thought I'd share the convention THEME SONG! Each year we have a different theme song and this one is so catchy I can't  get it out of my head!

Papaya Collage Congrats Card

Posted on June 25, 2012June 25, 2012 by Josee

This past weekend I had the priviledge of spending Saturday with some of the fabulous Inky Divas Team. We stamped and shared business ideas and it was so great to see so many wonderful ladies.

We had 9 stamping projects and this week I'll share them all with you, but, for today I thought I'd share one of the 3 that I prepared:

Project 1: Congrats Card

This card used 3 different stamp sets: Papaya Collage (wood 126610; cling 126612), Papillon Potpourri (wood 123757; cling 123759) and Sassy Salutations (wood 126705; cling 126707).
I also used our new Stampin' Spritzer (126185) filled with rubbing alcohol and a few drops of Champage Mist Shimmer Paint (116806).
I punched out the butterflies with our new Elegant Butterly Punch (127526) and added dimensionals to pop them off the page.

I'll have more to share this week about this event, but for now, I have to go spend some time in my stamp room to get the Stamp Set of the Month cards  made!
