Thanks Spotlight Technique

I love the Spotlight On Nature stamp set and decided it was perfect for the Spotlighting Technique. I created 3 different cards using this technique that I’m going to share in the next 3 days.

What’s the Spotlighting Technique?
This technique creates a beautiful focal point with just a die or punch and some colouring. There are so many different variations to design a card with this technique and I hope you enjoy my designs!

Dimensions

  • Melon Mambo: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic White: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Spotlight on Nature Dies: 1 1/16″ circle die, 2 3/8″

Directions

  1. Stamp the flower image on the Basic White cardstock using Memento Black ink.
  2. Wrap the Baker’s Twine around the bottom of the Basic White cardstock 3 times and tape ends to the back. Use another piece of black Baker’s Twine to wrap around the pieces and tie in a bow.
  3. Cut out 2 parts of the image using the 1 1/16″ and 2 3/8″ circle dies.
  4. Use the Stampin’ Blends to colour the circle cut out.
  5. Adhere the 4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic White cardstock to the card using Multipurpose Glue. Add the cut out circles to the card using Dimensionals.
  6. Stamp the greeting using Memento black ink on a piece of Melon Mambo. Cut it out using the die from the Unbounded Love Dies. Add the greeting to the card using Dimensionals.

Measurements:

  • Summer Splash – 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”; 5-1/4” x 4”
  • Basic White – scraps for stamping and die cutting

Instructions:

  1. Fold Summer Splash cardstock in half for card base.
  2. Emboss smaller piece of Summer Splash cardstock with Dotted Circles 3D embossing folder and adhere to card base.
  3. Stick the stamp sentiments, “thanks’, “—FOR—“, and “all the wonderful things you do” to one large block and stamp onto Basic White cardstock scrap; die cut.
  4. Stamp flower cluster onto Basic White cardstock scrap and color with Light and Dark Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends and highlight some parts with the Color Lifter.
  5. Attach the tag and flowers to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Add a small Pumpkin Pie In Color Resin Dot to each flower center.

You Make My Heart Smile

Dimensions

  • Petunia Pop: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″  AND  approx. 3/8″ x 3 3/8″
  • Designer Paper: 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Basic White: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ die

Directions

  1. Fold the Petunia Pop cardstock in half and use a Bone Folder to burnish the fold.
  2. Adhere the Designer Paper to the card.
  3. Cut out Basic White cardstock using the 2nd largest Postage Die and adhere it to the card.
  4. Stamp the flower image on Basic White cardstock using Black Memento ink.
  5. Use the #1 Layers of Beauty Decorative Mask to add Bubble Bath ink to the image with a Blending Brush.
  6. Use the #2 Layers of Beauty Decorative Mask to add Fresh Freesia ink to the image with a Blending Brush.
  7. Use the #3 Layers of Beauty Decorative Mask to add Petunia Pop ink to the image with a Blending Brush.
  8. Use the #4 Layers of Beauty Decorative Mask to add Lemon Lime Twist ink to the image with a Blending Brush.
  9. Use the #5 Layers of Beauty Decorative Mask to add Granny Apple Green ink to the image with a Blending Brush.
  10. Once the image has been coloured, cut it out using the coordinating Die.
  11. Add the image to the card using Dimensionals.
  12. Tie a piece of white Baker’s Twine in a bow and add it to the card using a Mini Glue Dot.
  13. Stamp the greeting using Petunia Pop ink on the bottom of a piece of matching cardstock. Cut it out close to the top of the words use a Paper Trimmer. Cut the left and right side close to the words, then cut the full greeting apart as shown in image. Add greetings to the card using Dimensionals.
  14. Add Resin Dots.

Adventurous Sky Father’s Day

Measurements:

  • Boho Blue: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2
  • Wild Wheat: ¼” x 4
  • Basic White: 5 ¼” x 4”; 2” square; 3 ¾” x 2”
  • Copper Clay: ¼” x 4”

Instructions:

  1. Fold Boho Blue cardstock in half and crease to create card base.
  2. Ink large cloud image using Boho Blue ink and stamp towards top of Basic White layer. Add medium and small Boho Blue clouds.
  3. Ink phrase using Wild Wheat ink and stamp onto Basic White card stock. Die-cut using Spotlight on Nature small die.
  4. Adhere Wild Wheat and Copper Clay strips across Basic White layer using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  5. Attach phrase to bottom of Basic White layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. Ink airplane image using Memento Tuxedo Black and stamp onto Basic White cardstock. Color using Wild Wheat and Copper Clay Stampin’ blends. Die-cut and attach to Basic White layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  7. To complete card, add 2 Basic Gray & Smoky Slate pearls.
