Some sweet Thank You’s

Doesn’t it just make your day to receive Thank You cards? It seems so easy to forget the importance of saying Thank You. I know when I receive one, I want to "pass it on". I try to remember a few people that deserve a Thank You and get stamping! Is it time you do the same? Who deserve your thanks?!

One of my absolute favourite things in my business is working with my downline. They are the most wonderful group of ladies and over the past 6 years, we’ve grown to be such a close, loving group. I don’t know everyone in my group, but, I truly care about all of them. I wish I could have the time to talk to and meet them all cause I know they are truly INKredible!!! (That is exactly what my group is called: INKredible Canadian Stampers!)

Two of my wonderful team members have sent me Thank You cards recently and I thought I’d share them with you. It truly warmed my heart to receive these. I know I’ve received more than these 2 in the past and appreciate each one, but, I don’t always have a chance to share them!

Birthday Card Contest Winners

This past weekend was my birthday and to celebrate I posted a card contest on my blog. I said I’d pick my 2 favourites for winners…but, instead-I let my 2 oldest kids pick and you know what?! They are the true kids of a stamper!

I asked the individually to pick their 2 favourites AND they picked the same 2!!! Isn’t that funny?! So, here are the winners:

Congrats to Genevieve Martel, one of my awesome downline from Quebec! Here’s the card she created:

The second winner…excites me and I’m so glad my kids picked her !! I was sent a contest entry by Melissa Hanlon from AUSTRALIA!! It’s the first mail I’ve ever received from Australia and even the postage stamp excited me! Here’s her entry:

Thanks to everyone for the cards and wishes. I had a great birthday! Melissa and Genevieve, I’ll be sending a special treat shortly!

Before I go, I just have to show you the cutest picture ever…I just can’t help it. My son, GRADUATED from Senior Kindergarten last week and he was so excited to be going into grade 1. I can’t believe how big they get so quickly!!! Here’s a cute photo of him accepting his diploma:

Summer by the Sea…boy, would I like to be there!

I was flipping through the August 08  Stamp It magazine (pg. 15) today and found this really fun card design and just had to make it. The designer used a non-SU stamp set and different colours and I thought Summer by the Sea would look lovely with this design. I haven’t used this stamp set in a long time and I still love it. Don’t you?

Here’s the card I came up with:
Supplies used
Stamps: Summer by the Sea
Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Black Stazon. For watercolouring: Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Bravo Burgundy, Regal Rose, Garden Green.
Accessories: Coluzzle, Burgundy Ribbon, Aquapainter

Side View:

To make this card, I started with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of Bravo Burgundy cardstock. I then cut Whisper White cardstock to 5 1/4 x 8 and folded with my bone folder. I used the coluzzle to create the circle in the center and use a pencil to lightly mark the circle in the center. I used Black Stazon to stamp the girl in the center and watercolored with an aquapainter and the ink from the lid of the ink pads. This is my absolute favourite way to watercolor. I stamped the greeting in Bravo Burgundy and added the piece of ribbon!

Voila…a nice summery card…can’t wait till summer really comes. It was freezing here this morning. Ok…not, really freezing-but, definetely cold!

Check out my great mail!!!I feel so loved!

One of the best things about being a demonstrator is all the great friends you make along the way. There are so many wonderful people I wouldn’t know if it wasn’t for Stampin’ Up!
One of the wonderful friends I’ve met along the way is Janice Weightman-she has been such a great resource to me for the past several years. She has blessed my life in so many way’s with her friendship and all the wonderful information she has shared with me-I’ve learned so much from her about being a demonstrator and team leader! I even got to visit her in Chicago a couple years back to speak at one of her large meetings. I had such a great time meeting her group and family! She’s kind of like my "adopted Stampin’ Up! mommy!"
A few weeks back I got a great package in the mail from her…check it out!

How awesome is that?!

There’s some really awesome projects included…here are some of my favourites:

Chopstick Album

Close Up

Aren’t they lovely projects?! Thanks Janice!!!

Happy Stamping!  Josee

Fun with “Girlfriends!”

My oldest Daugher is turning 8 tomorrow…can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday she was an adorable baby girl and now she’s 8!!! Do you ever feel like life goes too fast? She’s  such a wonderful girl and I can’t believe she’s grown up so much! We decided to have her party with friends next weekend at Art Mad in Stittsville. It’s an art store where the girls will get to make their own canvas painting. To top it off, the store will then take a scan of their art and transfer it to T-Shirts for each child. I can’t wait to see what they all create.

The invite we created was inspired by a card on Splitcoaststampers using the Girlfriends stamp set. This set retired a while back, but, I kept it knowing we’d get lots of use out of it as it’s so darn adorable!

Kyla even did the stamping and colouring herself!!! Who knows, maybe she’ll be a demonstrator one day!

Too bad she’s too young- this month would have been great for her to join with our Starter Kit special! If you’re way over 8 years old and have thought of joining Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator, make sure you check out my information page or attend my demonstrator information night!

Have a Happy Stamping Day!

Josee
