If you are anything like me, you take more photos during the summer, meaning you have that much more to scrapbook! It's easy to stay on top of your scrapbook pages with the new Designer Series paper and coordinating Quick Accents. Here's a 6×6 page created using Playdate Designer Series Paper (117168) and Playdate Quick Accents (117172) and a bit of Tempting Turquoise cardstock. 6×6 pages are a fun format to work with as albums are available in this size, or you can easily add them to a 12×12. They are definitely simpler than larger pages as there's that much less space to work with! This page would look cute layered on a 12 x 12 piece of Real Red, So Saffron or Old Olive, and then just add a photo above the border accent and you are all set!

To create this page:

Cut Tempting Turquoise cardstock to 6×6.

Cut dotted Designer Series Paper from Playdate package to 5.75 x 5.75 and attach with SNAIL.

Add star border accent from package at about 1.5 inches from the bottom and trim at edge.

Working from right hand side, add letters to spell out summer.

Add star accents to the left of your title.

Here's the artwork in this line:

Technique Directions

This is a super simple technique, but one you probably forget about it as you collect sheet after sheet of Designer Series Paper. Any Designer Series Paper with a bold image such as the flowers on several sheets in the Greenhouse Gala package are perfect for this technique!

Select the paper you'd like to work with, and then identify three flowers or other elements you'd like to work with.

Carefully cut them out using your paper snips.

Layer on focal point (such as the circle used here) with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches

Fold card base in half.

Create circle out of Early Expresso Cardstock using Clear Circle Die and the Big Shot.

Layer selected flowers onto circle using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp greeting in Early Expresso Classic Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Trim to fit hardware.

Attach greeting to circle/flower panel only on the left side of the greeting using a Stampin' Dimensional. This will help stabilize the hardware piece on your card. Then set and then attach hardware using Paper Piercing Tool and brad, only on the left.

Attach circle panel to card mat with SNAIL, and then attach right hand side of greeting, and set right hand brad.

Affix entire panel to finished card with SNAIL.

Vintage is definitely one of the hottest trends right now in stamping and scrapbooking, and this year's Idea Book and Catalog is packed full of amazing new vintage products. If you go to page 124 in the catalog, you can check out the Vintage Suite, which inspired this project, as it uses the Newsprint Designer Series Paper (117166), and the color combination of Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.

This project also uses the new Perfect Punches (W117022/C120516) stamp set which is a definite must-have stamp set as all the greetings coordinate with different punches!

Less than two weeks to go until the awesome stamp sets on the Retiring List are no longer available! Have you reviewed the list and make sure none of your favourites are leaving? Avoid disappointment and make sure you order any of those sets by June 30th.

This card features two retiring sets – Best Wishes & More (111602), and Stem Sayings (115078). I am always a little bit sad to see sets retire, but that means there's lots of new stamps coming our way in the new 2010/2011 Idea Book and Catalogue! It has some amazing sets in it that I can promise you'll fall in love with!

Speaking of retiring sets – here's some links to older posts that feature retiring sets which I will miss as well:

When I first opened up the Summer Mini, I immediately knew that A Little Bit of Magic was going to be at the top of many moms stamping shopping lists! Having two girls myself, this is a perfect set for the kids, and fun for us big girls to play with too. This definitely was a popular set for the INKredible Canadian Divas when we had our swap earlier this Spring! Here's just a few of the ideas these talented ladies came up with:

A Little Bit of Magic is available in both wood (118613) and clear (120033):
