Stampers Club Projects

Fun with textures! Faux Suede

This past week I was supposed to go to Syracuse for a Stampin' Up! Regional seminar. We were going to have a full day of stamping fun and they had even asked me to do a 5 minute wow presentation on stage. I was both scared and excited to do it. Unfortunetely the event got cancelled at the last minute due to severe snow.

So, I decided the projects I was going to show on stage would be perfect for my stamp club and my team's stamp and share night. I showed them 5 different projects that I had prepared and they got to make 2 of them

Here are some of the projects:

Stamp Sets: Loads of Love Stamp Set, Loads of Love Accessories Stamp Set

Paper: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White Cardstock

INK: Chocolate Chip, Going Gray, Basic Black, Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa
Accessories:
Blender Pens, Crystal Effects, Stamp-a-ma-jig (if desired), SNAIL, Spritz bottle with water

Stampin’ Write Markers: Brocade Blue, Basic Black, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa

Can you see the shine on the fender of the card? I love using Crystal Effects to create a 3D shine effect!

To create the texture portion of this card:

Take a strip of cardstock and spritz with water on both sides of the cardstock and crumple in your hands, ensuring to create texture.  Set aside to dry.

This is the card I was going to demo on stage, I actually used Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder to add DAZZLE to the designer series paper. It's really quite sparkly in person!

To create the textured butterly (chocolate):

Using your bone folder, work the cardstock and fibers of the large cut butterfly.  Make sure to do both sides and all areas but be careful for the middle of the butterfly.  You will see the fibres become loose so you can now tear the edge so the paper completely splits, this gives you a beautiful, textured, faux suede look.

Supplies

Stamp Set: With All My Love Stamp Set

Paper: Rose Red Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Sweet Pea Designer Paper Stack

INK: Rose Red Classic Ink, Versamark Ink

Accessoried: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Beautiful Butterflies, Sponge Daubers, Paper Snips, Horizontal Slot Punch, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Snail Adhesive, Bone Folder

Hinged Card

I started a new stampers club this month and we made two really fun projects! One of the projects we made this fun Hinged card…I love how easy it is to make and it can double as a gift card holder too!

Directions

1. Stamp the greeting on the upper right hand area of the Barely Banana card base using Basic Gray.
2. Create a scalloped edge on the Basic Gray Cardstock using the Scallop Edge Punch. Randomly stamp the circles from Seeing Spots using Basic Gray Classic Ink.
3. Wrap the Apricot Appeal Grosgrain Ribbon around the Certainly Celery cardstock. Tie a knot using the smaller piece of ribbon.
4. Without adhering, line up the Basic Gray Bottom and Certainly Celery Top onto the Barely Banana Base, you should not see any Barely Banana at this point.  Mark with a pencil or hold the area where the Celery and Gray overlap. Holding together, punch the hole where your brad will go to create your hinge.
5. Apply Adhesive to the Basic Gray portion only, along the bottom and sides.  (Do not add adhesive to the top part!)  This will allow the Certainly Celery Hinge to move up and down.
6. Stamp the image using Basic Gray Classic Ink onto the Whisper White Cardstock and colour with Blender Pens and Classic Ink. Colour the inside of the flower with the Chocolate Chip Marker. Adhere to the Certainly Celery & Barely Banana layers.
7. Adhere the stamped image to the front of the card to help keep the hinged portion in place.

Measurements
4 ¼ by 5 ½ for base
4 ¼ by 3 for Top “hinged” portion
4 ¼ by 3 ½ for Bottom with scallop edge
1 ¾ by 2 for stamped image (layers are ¼ larger)

Flower Pot Card

I had such a lovely weekend in Lake Placid…I honestly thought that I’d come home rested-BUT, I’m absolutely exhausted. It takes alot out of you to have fun. lol. I was there on a "ladies retreat" with my Church listening to Anne Beiler and her awesome story of faith. She is also an amazing business woman and started Auntie Ann’s pretzels over 20 years ago. I personally have never been to one of these stores…maybe one day they’ll come to my area…but I heard their pretzels are amazing!

I hope you had a terrific weekend too! Today, I’ll be hosting a bunch of ladies in my studio to make 80 wedding invitations! It’s going to be alot of fun! If you’re getting married and live in Ottawa, make sure you contact me  to book your wedding consultation! You’ll be amazed at how beautiful your wedding invites can be when you make them!

The sample I’m showing you is PERFECT FOR MOTHER’S DAY or some special lady! It’s a flower-pot card….isn’t it adorable?! This is one of the projects we made in my stamper’s club last month. If you want directions, click here.

 I just love this idea!

Don’t you?!
