Scallop Circle Punch Card by Terri

Terri Monette has been a part of my stampers club for over a year now and regularly brings in projects she makes to share with me. She has a really great eye for colour and style and I love this card she’s recently shared with me!

Terri used the stamp set LOVELY AS A TREE…though it’s been around a while, it is still a very popular set!

Notice how she used the scallop circle punch to create a different style of card?! She trimmed the card so that it’s still fits in an envelope with the scallop circle higher than the top of the card. Not sure if that makes sense in writting but I’m sure you get the idea from the pictures! (Edited to add: Terri wanted to mention that she first saw the idea on Dawn’s Blog so you can go check out her inspiration…click here!)

Featured Stampin’ Up! Stamper: Catherine Cote

One of my downline lives in Montreal (about 2 hrs away)  and I really don’t get to see her enough. She is a lovely person and an awesome stamper!!! Whenever she makes it to Ottawa for one of our demonstrator meetings, I get feedback from my local ladies how great it is to have "The Montreal Girls" come down!!! :)

In May at my Stampin’ Girls Convention (for demonstrators) she created a really WOW project and has agreed to let me feature it on my blog!!! I know you’ll love it!

First here’s a bit about Catherine’s Story as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator:
“I have been addicted to any craft that’s paper-related all my life but have been actively scrapbooking and rubber-stamping since 2001 after a trip to Hawaii. I am a full-time Stampin’ Up! demonstrator since January 2006 and have enjoyed every minute of it! I am married to a husband who understands my passion and who’s built beautiful studio and classroom in our home. This allows me to give workshops out of my house on an average of 3 days a week. It’s amazing to be able to share my passion while educating people in this creative journey and make a living out of it. I’m also a mother of two beautiful artistic teenagers whom we are proud of and their many accomplishments. So far, it’s been an amazing ride!”

Here’s her awesome Candle Boat:
Catherine created this project 50 times for WOW swap at the convention and each was beautiful!!!

It hold 3 tea candles. (If you use yours, make sure it doesn’t burn the paper!!! SAFETY first!!!)

"The candles were glittered by dropping Irridescent Ice embossing powder then heated with a heat gun to seal the powder into the candle. So easy… and the effect is stunning. Because I had to stack them into a bag to bring to the convention, the ones I gave away don’t have the vellum layer on the butterfly (sorry girls). But in this picture, you can see the last layer of the butterfly embossed with Irridescent Ice EP over Soft Sky ink. Because the Classic ink does not dry fast on vellum, it allows you to emboss. I also added Crystal Effects on the little body of the butterfly and put more Irridescent Ice on it. The butterfly is then curved upwards by running a bone folder over it, using a piece of fun foam underneath. The swirl on top of the box is first stamped with Whisper White Craft ink and then embossed with Detail White EP. The tiny flowers are stamped with VersaMark ink."

"As a thank you to all my readers, I decided to share with you my template. Just click on the image on the left, then right-click with your mouse to do a "save as". You can then print on a 8 1/2" X 11" cardstock of your choice. There are 2 candle holders per page.

The template provides for 3 tea lights but I’ve decided to cut out only 2 holes. You could also cut out just the one in the middle and decorate on each side. It’s up to you!"

Recipe (all supplies by Stampin’ Up! except otherwise indicated)Stamp Set: priceless; Cardstock: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Soft Sky, Vellum; Inks: Whisper White, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, VersaMark; Embossing Powders: Detail White, Irridescent Ice; Ribbon: Bayou Blue double-stitched grosgrain; Punches: 1/4" Circle, Scalloped Circle; Others: Orbis Circle Scissor (EK Success), Sticky Strip, Tombow Multi-purpose Glue, Pop-Up Glue Dots, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, tea lights (source unknown); Heat Gun

Featured Scrapbook Pages

Family Scrapbook Page – Kim Assaly (demonstrator)

Using a sepia picture of her beautiful family, Kim really captures elegance here with this page.  At the bottom, she has used the technique called Tag Punch Star or Tag Punch Starburst taught to us by demonstrator Tracie St. Louis (see Demonstrator Events for more examples).  What a fantastic example of combining stamping and scrapbooking together – thank you so much for sharing Kim!

‘Capturing the Action’ Scrapbook Pages – Jackie Decarlo

Jackie shows us just what fantastic scrapbooking pages look like with these 3 pages which show off her husband’s cycling talent and his involvment in a bike marathon one hot August!  Way to go hubby! I just love the pictures on the first page and second page cropped into squares for a super artistic touch!  Thank you so much for sharing Jackie!

Have a HAPPY STAMPING Day!  Josee

Featured Stamper: Diane Daines

Here are 4 beautiful Christmas cards made by Diane Daines, a valuable stamp club member!

The first 2 cards use an oldie but still loved set (now retired) called Sleigh Full of Toys to which Diane adds some wonderful colour.

The last 2 cards use the Wishing You Cheer stamp set which is still available for your enjoyment and creativity!

I just love these cards – thank you so much Diane for sharing with us!

Featured Stamper: Stephanie Lefebvre

Stephanie shared 2 elegant cards with us at club in November. The first used THE SNOWFLAKE SPOT stamp set. Aren’t monochromatic cards great?! All you need for this great card is one ink colour & cardstock, white cardstock, some ribbon and one stamp set!

Her second card uses BAROQUE MOTIFS stamp set. I love the jewel in the middle, it really adds "sparkle" to the card! Stephanie1
