Joy Card

This beautiful card was created by one of my downline, Tracie St. Louis. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it, and know you all will too. It’s using the Love & Joy Stamp Set from the Holiday Mini Collection Catalogue.

Love & Joy Card

The part I love the most about the card is how she used some of the Holiday Mini Designer Wrapping Paper as a layer. Not only is this paper absolutely GORGEOUS, it can be used on so many different projects other than wrapping gifts!!!! And, and, and…..to top it off….the Satin Ribbon featured on page 22 of the Mini is made to match; how great is that?!

Holiday Planner

Here’s a fun project that I shamelessly CASED from Tina Rosenkrans’ Blog…I loved the project so much I almost copied it exactly!

Planner_front

I used the Simply Scrappin’ Winter Bright kit and only used a bit of it to create this fun Holiday Planner. The planner is made using an ordinary 2 pocket folder from an office supply store…or even the dollar store!

Here’s a closer look of the inside of the planner:

Planner_inside

You can use the pages to organize any of your holiday planning, but, my pages say: Gift List, Family Traditions, To do and Recipes.

Here’s a photo of the back:

Tips to creating this project:

Step 1: Choose the cardstock and decorative paper that you would like to use in your kit.

Step 2: Cut 6 strips of cardstock and/or decorative paper into 4 1/2″ x 12″

Step 3: Pick 5 of the strips from above and cut them in 2 pieces of 4 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ and 4 1/2″ x 7 3/4″  (This may change depending the size of your folder pocket)

Step 4: Use a bone folder to create an accordion fold in your folder.

Step 5: Decorate your folder using your cut paper from step 3. The remaining uncut strip is used for the back cover. I used modge podge to adhere the papers to the folder.

Step 6: Cut 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock (8 1/2×11 size) to 4 1/4″ x 11″ to use for your inside pages.

Step 7: Embellish your white cardstock as desired and add to your pockets.

Step 8: Use Sticky Strip to adhere Ribbon to front of folder only. (Real Red Grosgrain recommended)

Ta da….A fun Organizer in 8 easy steps!

Organizing your Stampin’ Spots

One of my customers emailed me this great tip and I just had to share it on my blog!

Here’s what she said:I purchased a 12 pc ink set (Stampin’ Spots) from you at the last party I attended.  You had mentioned about we should store our inks upside down.  I came up with an idea thought I’d pass it on to you for your customers.

Since the colours on the ink package are nowhere close to the beautiful colour of the ink, and we are to store them upside down, here’s my idea.  I used one of your small stamps, and stamped the same image with all the different colours in the box.  Then I punched them out with a square punch, and used a tab to secure it to the bottom of the ink pad.  That way I can see what colour it is, and it looks pretty in the box too!”

Thanks so much Samantha Cranke for this great tip! I was so excited, I had to use your idea for my Stampin’ Spots!

What a great mail day!

Wooohooo….check out what I got in the mail today….a swap from Shelli Gardner, the Cofounder and CEO of Stampin’ Up! This adorable tag made my day. Gift Tag Shelli made them for all the Founder’s Circle Trip Achievers. (The top demonstrators in Canada and the US received a Free trip to Lake Powell, Arizona for 5 days.) If you want to see what we did and saw on this trip…you can find my pictures from my trip HERE. We were supposed to receive this adorable tag while on the trip, but, unfortunetely the tags made it onto only the first bus on the last morning…so, they mailed them to us instead- how nice to receive something special in the mail! Here’s a cute photo of Shelli making her swaps. Shelli making her swaps  It’s so nice to know we’re not the only ones not having our swaps done till the last minute. :) Happy Stamping!
